    Switzerland 0-0 France

Kingsley Coman is taken out with a waist-high challenge. Coman has had quite the career already - he's only 19 and has played for PSG, Juventus and Bayern Munich.

He's already won the French league twice, Serie A and the Bundesliga. He could have a European grand slam by 25...

    Romania 0-0 Albania

If there is some consolation for Emir Lenjani, it's that his horrendous miss seems to have rattled Romania somewhat. They can't string any passes together after a strong start to this game and, in fact, it is Albania who are seeing more of the ball at the moment.

    Switzerland 0-0 France

Half an hour in. As it stands France win Group A, Switzerland will join them. Romania are in the third spot and will have to wait and see.

Also. we are yet to have a goal in open play inside 30 minutes in the tournament.

Paul Pogba - it's like being tackled by an octopus. He is all limbs, arms and legs flailing away as he strips a man of possession before sliding a pass out wide to Yohan Cabaye. He looks to be playing at his very best tonight.

  5. CLOSE!published at 24 mins

    Romania 0-0 Albania

Oh what a chance for Albania!

They haven't scored at a major tournament, but this is the closest they have come as they break quickly. Andi Lila plays a great ball behind the defence and Ermir Lenjani is there at the back post. Just the goalkeeper to beat, surely a goal? No he smashes over from all of five yards.

    Must. Do. Better.

Woooosh! What a strike. So unlucky.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 23 mins

    Switzerland 0-0 France

France win a corner, whipped in by Antoine Griezmann - that's a forward taking a corner everyone - and Patrice Evra is close to reaching it. Adil Rami then goes for an overhead kick and smashes Admir Mehmedi in the face. Booked.

    Switzerland 0-0 France

Paul Pogba is a man on a mission after a slow start to the tournament. He's cleared the ball off the line, hit the woodwork twice and had a good effort saved in the box too.

He has had as many efforts in 17 minutes - four - as he did in the first two games.

    Switzerland 0-0 France

Switzerland will not be cowed by Paul Pogba's one-man show though. They continue to attack as Admir Mehmedi has an effort well blocked and Breel Embolo almost gets clear of the (high) French line. End-to-end.

  11. Romania knocking at the doorpublished at 20:22 British Summer Time 19 June 2016

    Romania 0-0 Albania

This has been the best chance so far in a somewhat cagey encounter. Expect it to liven up a bit the longer it goes on without a goal.

  12. Sommer denies Pogbapublished at 20:21 British Summer Time 19 June 2016

    Switzerland 0-0 France

This is the second of Paul Pogba's three fine efforts in a matter of minutes. And a very good save too from Yann Sommer.

Paul Pogba now steps in off the left wing and whips in a beauty of a cross which Andre-Pierre Gignac is close to meeting with a header. He's everywhere.

What a strike that is, and on his weaker foot. allegedly. That was a howitzer of a shot and Sommer did not move.

Albania have not had a shot on goal in over 110 minutes at the Euros, and are not looking likely to stop the clock any time soon. They have barely got close to the Romania box in these early stages.

  17. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 17 mins

    Switzerland 0-0 France

What a hit! Paul Pogba is showing the world what he's all about for sure, striding through the centre and then lashing a left-footer from at least 25 yards, straight as a die, against the crossbar.

Yann Sommer reduced to a spectator, with a restricted view too. Pogba could have had a stunning hat-trick already. The Euros have a new main man...

France v Switzerland .... The game that wasn't ... The kickoff was kicked backwards and was therefore illegal... The ball must travel forward into the oppositions half by its own circumference...

Sorry John, the rules have changed. I'm amazed so many of you even noticed though!

A very watchable start to the game in Lille. The Swiss are next to attack as Blerim Dzemaili has a shot deflected up, it troubles Hugo Lloris but the France skipper does well to keep it in play.

  20. CLOSE!published at 15 mins

    Romania 0-0 Albania

Romania are well on top at the moment and go close again as Denis Alibec somehow manages to squirm his way through three Albania players before letting fly from 35 yards. Well struck, just wide.
