  2. GREAT SAVE!published at 13 mins

    Switzerland 0-0 France

That's a proper save! Paul Pogba is playing like the Paul Pogba who is continually linked to a £75m+ move. He's everywhere, a mix of balletic grace and bulldozer power. He brings the ball down from on high, plays a one-two with Kingsley Coman and then crunches in a shot on the bounce, left-footed, from a narrow angle. Yann Sommer makes a really good one-handed save.

    Danny Murphy
Former England midfielder on BBC One

"It was good play by Andre-Pierre Gignac, he holds the ball up, is patient and picks out a good pass. And that’s what we want to see by Paul Pogba – getting the shot off. The keeper is a lucky boy that it doesn’t go in."

  4. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 12 mins

    Switzerland 0-0 France

The bobbly pitch makes Patrice Evra look like a chump as a simple pass goes out of play but then France go very close! Andre-Pierre Gignac finds Paul Pogba in the pocket, he hits a dipping strike which Swiss keeper Yann Sommer can only push up, volleyball style, and it drops on to the top of the crossbar on its way over!

"Now or never" reads a flag in the Romanian end, obscured a little by a flare going off in the stands.

  6. CLOSE!published at 10 mins

    Romania 0-0 Albania

These two sides didn't score many in qualifying but both know they can ill afford a cautious approach to this game if they are to have a chance of reaching the last 16. As a result it is a very lively start.

Romania are having the better of it at the moment as Bogdan Stancu catches Elseid Hysaj's headed clearance sweetly with his left boot and volleys goalward but Etrit Berisha is right behind it.

Game changer. There are quite a lot of you commenting about France taking the kick-off with just one player so a reminder that the rules were changed as of 1 June. You can now kick the ball wherever you like, it doesn't even have to go forwards.

Many rules have changed. You can see them all here.

Another decent Swiss build-up. Breel Embolo has already shown why he is being watched by some of Europe's big boys. He's got the lot.

The men in red win a corner and my word that is close! Xherdan Shaqiri swings it over, Paul Pogba almost shuffles the ball over his own line but it's just about cleared away!

Oof! Nasty, nasty challenge by Migjen Basha as he jumps in on Ovidu Hoban, foot outstretched and he catches Hoban square on the shoulder. Yellow card and lucky not to have been sent off.

Gary Wilkinson: A night spent flicking between the 2 games. Guaranteed to miss any goals scored!!!

Nathan Price: Think the #SUI could cause an upset. #FRA making lots of changes which could disturb rhythm

Steven MacConmara: Sissoko is better than Matuidi anyway overdue start, Cabaye quality too. What's all the fuss over Payet rested? their through!

    Romania 0-0 Albania

Nervous moment for Albania goalkeeper Etrit Berisha as Ovidiu Hoban shoots from distance. It isn't a particularly powerful effort but bounces in front of goal and almost catches out Berisha as he fumbles his save, but he quickly smothers the loose ball.

Kingsley Coman is back in the France team tonight, galloping down the left wing, but he overcooks his touch and can't quite gather it in. Switzerland look like a good side to me - right up until it matters, within shooting range of the opposition goal.

Switzerland clear the corner and counter smartly, with teenage forward Breel Embolo offering a direct option over the top. He's caught offside but showed there that he has got bags of pace. Will keep Adil Rami honest.

Excellent noise from the stands, mostly coming from the Albania fans as Armando Sadiku steals the ball midway inside the Romania half and races goalwards. Romania have good numbers back though and he runs into a yellow wall.

It's a big night for Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris, who captains France for the 54th time; equalling the record held by his manager Didier Deschamps.

Moussa Sissoko wins an early corner for the French.

Watching "the hipsters' choice" of ALBROM. Both need to score, expecting free-flowing football...got 0-0 written all over it!
