Hull captain Michael Dawson on Livermore's Football Focus interview: "It was emotional listening to that. He's the kind of person you want at the club, to have around, and the way he has come back is a credit to him.

"It's great that Jake is now so strong and he wants to help people who are going through a similar situation."

Sunderland goalkeeper Vito Mannone will be out for at least three months and could require an operation after tearing elbow ligaments.

The 28-year-old Italian, who joined the Black Cats from Arsenal in 2013, was injured during a training session.

Manager David Moyes said he would "definitely" look to make a signing as Jordan Pickford, 22, is his only fit senior goalkeeper.

Moyes added the club had made a bid for Sevilla midfielder Vicente Iborra, and the newspapers are reporting this morning that Manchester City's Joe Hart could be on his way to the North East.

Jake Livermore: Failing drugs test saved my Hull City career

Jake Livermore says his positive test for cocaine was the "get out of jail free card" he needed to start to come to terms with the death of his son.

The 26-year-old Hull midfielder failed a drugs test in May 2015, almost a year after his newborn son Jake Junior died.

The Football Association decided not to ban him because of "the unique nature of circumstances" involved.

"It was a young human being who got lost in circumstances and didn't know how to react," he told Football Focus.

Livermore said he "almost felt relieved" at being caught.

    Chelsea v Burnley (15:00 BST)

It's been an up and down week for Burnley.

Sean Dyche's men got off the mark with a 2-0 victory over Liverpool last weekend.

But it went a bit wrong mid-week in the EFL Cup, where they lost to League Two Accrington Stanley.

Their first away match since their return to the Premier League sees them travel to Stamford Bridge to face Antonio Conte's Chelsea, who have three wins from three in all competitions.

And history is on the Blues' side.

You have to cast your mind back to April 1983 for Burnley's last league win over Chelsea - a time when Spandau Ballet's mega hit True was heading for the number one spot.

    Heady days...

Peter Collins: Aldershot could just use a couple more players... We only had 3 on the bench last weekend!

Jack Davies: Liverpool need a new LB (Bertrand), CB (Sule) and a CM (wish we'd got Kante).

Stephen Hernandez: Chelsea - two defenders and a striker

Dan Walford: A new striker or winger seems destined at Newcastle...think Lewandowski could do a job.

I think Liverpool will finish in the top four, they have so much energy and they are not playing in Europe this year.

Defensively is their only question mark but Jurgen Klopp will get that sorted.

After the Burnley defeat I can guarantee that Klopp would have walked in on Monday smiling, getting them up for the week ahead.

I played under Bobby Robson and he was so happy and enthusiastic it gave you energy out on the pitch.

Alex Shcnopple: Millers could do with 2 more strikers, midfield's crowded, I fear our formation will switch to 3-6-1 and that's not good enough

Ady Charnley: Blackburn supporter - we need new owners.

  13. Pellegrini moves to Chinapublished at 10:21 British Summer Time 27 August 2016

Manuel Pellegrini is back in management. He's made the move over to China to join Super League side Hebei China Fortune.

Manchester City replaced Pellegrini, 62, with Pep Guardiola in June, despite the Chilean winning the Premier League in 2014.

Pellegrini joins fellow high-profile coaches Sven-Goran Eriksson and Luis Felipe Scolari in the big-money Chinese league, and he will have Argentina's Ezequiel Lavezzi, former Arsenal forward Gervinho and ex-Chelsea youngster Gael Kakuta in his squad.

    Tottenham v Liverpool (12:30 BST)

    Martin Keown
    Former England defender

I was watching Jurgen Klopp's reactions during the defeat at Burnley while I was on Final Score last Saturday and I thought he kept remarkably restrained considering what he was watching.

It is early days but, after two games of the new Premier League campaign, his side still seem to be where they were last season - you do not know which Liverpool are going to turn up.

They need to find a better balance and on Saturday they will face a Tottenham team that have exactly that.

Under Mauricio Pochettino, Tottenham are well drilled and, even if they do not click going forward, they do not give much away at the back.

You would not say that about Liverpool at present. It seemed to me that they lost the game at Burnley by trying to win it, and they have to learn from that.

  15. Saturday's early kick-offpublished at 10:09 British Summer Time 27 August 2016

    Tottenham v Liverpool (12:30 BST)

First up today is Tottenham v Liverpool at White Hart Lane.

Spurs have four points from their opening two matches, after a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace and a 1-1 draw with Everton.

Liverpool have made a more tumultuous start to the season, to say the least.

Jurgen Klopp's side opened with a mad 4-3 win over Arsenal, then lost 2-0 against newly-promoted Burnley, before sticking five past Championship side Burton Albion in the EFL Cup on Tuesday.

How's your blood pressure, Reds fans?!

Last season, the two meetings between the sides both ended in draws but saw plenty of man hugs between the managers.

Most top-level managers are pretty guarded but Jurgen Klopp was not just hugely charismatic when I spoke to him for this week's Premier League Show, he was also pretty honest and frank.

He spoke quite candidly to me about a lot of things and it was refreshing to meet a manager who is so open like that, especially someone who is 'box office' too.

His man-management skills are very interesting and it was great to get an insight from him into his thinking there, because you can tell he is the kind of guy that gets the best out of people.

He also explains his general ethos with his teams - not just the way he likes them to play, but the thinking behind that.

Don't forget to tell who you support.

Ollie Hall: Spurs need another CM to backup Dembele with Bentaleb and (probably?) Mason leaving. Someone that's box-to-box like Mousa.

Baramenyn: Swans need a top flight experienced centre-half. He's made unwise career choices but I'd like to see Caulker back.

Rohit Neopane: I wanted Griezmann at MUFC but hey, we now have Zlatan. The squad looks good and can challenge titles this season.

  19. No Liverpool deal for Pulisicpublished at 09:52 British Summer Time 27 August 2016

    Phil McNulty

There's been reports that Liverpool have made a bid for Borussia Dortmund's 17-year-old forward Christian Pulisic.

The Reds had reportedly submitted an offer of £11m, external for the American winger, who signed for the German club’s academy during Jurgen Klopp’s tenure.

I'm told the club are interested but it's unlikely to happen in this window, which closes on Wednesday.

    Joe HartImage source, Getty Images

I am sympathetic but it is the way it works. As a player all you want to do is to be given a chance to prove yourself and it seems that the decision was made before Pep Guardiola even met Joe Hart.

He doesn't understand Hart's importance in the changing room, or to the fans.

If I was Joe Hart I would stay. He can improve as a goalkeeper under Guardiola. I have had situations when managers don't fancy a player but if you are in training and impressing under their nose there is a point when they can't ignore you.

He can afford to have a year without playing. There is no major tournament for England at the end of the year. And where is he going to go?
