I stand corrected. Actually, I could have just read the tweet properly.

Cheers Pete. And sorry Alexandra (although I'm pretty sure they'd have played Glory Glory Man United anyway. Waste of a pick. You could have had Call Me Al. Or some Wham. Or NeverEnding Story, the theme tune to The NeverEnding Story, by Limahl).

Man Utd v Man City (12:30 BST)

    Wait. What?

Manchester United have guest DJs for pre-match music?!

I see Alexandra has pulled a sneaky one with track number eight. She's not stupid.

Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola face each other for the first time in the Premier League.

Marti Perarnau, author of "Pep Confidential", says "it's not a bad relationship" because they have "no relationship" at all.

  6. 'Guardiola is a very good manager'published at 09:40 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho: "I know what the derby means. I've played them everywhere, but I always want to be in a position of emotional control. If we want to win we have to be at the top.

"They have a very good manager. They always have very good players and bought more. They are what they are since I returned to England. They are a title contender and you have to respect them."

Just like me, they long to be close to you...

Man United v Man City: Pep Guardiola on Jose Mourinho rivalry

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has suggested any personal rivalry with United manager Jose Mourinho is created "from the media".

"We can't control that," added the Catalan. "I said it many times - I have a lot of respect for Mourinho. I always try to learn from all of my colleagues - it's the same with him.

"He was my coach, my assistant coach with Sir Bobby Robson [at Barcelona]. OK, the last period at Barcelona and Real Madrid was not easy for both of us but we met each other two, three weeks ago at the managers' Premier League meeting.

"Of course I'll accept a glass of wine after the game if he invites me."

Why do birds suddenly appear, every time you are near...

  11. Mirrorpublished at 09:16 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

The Mirror have gone somewhat off piste, though, focusing in not on the rivalry between the managers but the lingering animosity Pep reportedly has for United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic. It is all because of something Zlatan wrote in his book apparently.

Unsurprisingly, most of today's back pages maintain this Vs theme to today's proceedings. The Times, for example, give us "The Puncher against the Philosopher" - the makings of the shortest fist-fight in history. Oh, Pep may be able top out-think his rival, but unfortunately Jose has brought a big old piece of wood with a nail through it.

  14. This town ain't big enough for the both of uspublished at 09:08 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

In what is possibly the biggest side-plot in football history, today's Manchester derby also sees the rekindling of the rivalry between this bloke...

    And this fella...

    Pep GuardiolaImage source, Getty Images

It's that age-old battle between those perceived as pragmatist and idealist. In the mind of many it is a clash between the man who parks the bus and the bloke who drives it. It's Niki Lauda v James Hunt, Bjorn Borg v John McEnroe, Ivan Drago v Rocky Balboa.

The soundtrack in my head right now is Burning Heart by Survivor.

  15. Guess who's back, back again...published at 09:05 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

Man Utd v Man City (12:30 BST)

After experimenting with mediocrity of late, Manchester's United and City have clearly decided it is not for them.

Cue a high-profile managerial appointment each and some ludicrously hefty spending and they are back in the game. In your face, last season's heart-stirring, passion-rekindling football fairytale.

Today offers the opportunity to plant an early flag in Mancunian soil. But that is not all. Oh no...
