It was very good play from Nemanja Matic. You don't see him in the opposition box very often but he had a brilliant time of it.

Liverpool need five minutes here. Just to get a grip of the game again. The momentum is all Chelsea's.

Robin Smit: Liverpool always seem to make things hard for themselves. Like they have a self implode button when things are going well.

Vieira151: Hendo may have scored a peach, but needs more defensive nous. Should have followed the run of Matic.

How about this for a build-up? From Oscar (8) winning back possession in his own half, Chelsea strung together 13 passes before Nemanja Matic (21) set off on his gallop forward. The Serb midfielder exchanged passes with Eden Hazard (10) before keeping his composure - with Liverpool bodies sliding in from all angles - to cut back to scorer Diego Costa (19).

This is a completely different Chelsea now. Diego Costa has been phenomenal for the last 10 minutes. These are worrying times for Jurgen Klopp now. Liverpool have lost that control in midfield now. 

Chelsea got booed off at half-time, the fans are up and look at the difference it has made to the team.

Goals change games, and goals change names too. Diego Costa is in world-beater mode now, a wrecking ball of a forward. Oscar wins a header and flicks it down to Costa, back to goal, defender right up his behind. Costa spins him in one go and lashes in a left-footed shot, all in one movement.

It's straight at Simon Mignolet but that's wonderful centre-forward play.

Chelsea finally catch a break as Diego Costa bundles one in. Can they finally change gear with the lift of the goal because they have been so ponderous in comparison to Liverpool.

Now we might finally have a game.

This second half has been a complete non-event. Next to nothing in the way of entertainment so far. Step it up!

Chelsea have stepped it up and they are moving the ball quicker. They are getting the ball to Willian more as well and he will create for them.

Change up front for Liverpool which maybe suggests a change in shape. Off comes Daniel Sturridge, on comes Divock Origi.

Sit deeper and exploit Origi over the top?

Branislav Ivanovic arrives as an attacking full-back for the first time, jags past James Milner with a neat touch inside and Milner ends up face down staring at the turf. He tries to still make a challenge and Ivanovic goes down.

He is the only man really demanding a spot-kick though. Nothing given.

I thought Chelsea manager Antonio Conte left it late against Swansea to make changes. He is going to have to dig deep into that brain of tactics to get anything for Chelsea from this game.

In the opening 10 minutes of this half the only shot Chelsea have had was a complete mishit from N'Golo Kante. Just not offering enough to eat into this Liverpool lead.

Chelsea Warrior: Conte is architect of his own problems. If Fabregas starts, we likely to have scored by now. Pressure off, team relaxed. Three points.

This is a surprisingly flat Chelsea display so far. Very one-paced and steady.

Willian looks the man most likely and his cross is punched - well this time - by Simon Mignolet. He is whacked by Diego Costa late but the keeper picks himself up.

I don't want to put the commentators' curse on him but Joel Matip has been impressive for Liverpool. He has marshalled Diego Costa very well.

Diego Costa is on the deck after a challenge from Joel Matip but is waved to his feet by referee Martin Atkinson. Costa yet to get that Hulk-like temper working in his favour tonight. He was a nightmare last weekend. A constant thorn. Liverpool have been largely untroubled by him thus far.

Willian puts in a dangerous cross, Oscar at least gambles and makes a near-post run but Dejan Lovren is able to cut it out. Simon Mignolet is then whistled loudly for taking his time in restarting. A long way to go for that...
