After about quarter of an hour, our 5 live expert Jermaine Jenas said Liverpool needed more width. Jurgen Klopp must be listening on his mobile phone. The Reds started using more width and it paid dividends. Both Liverpool goals came after moves from the left flank, where they have concentrated the bulk of their raids.

It has been a miserable night for Chelsea striker Diego Costa so far. He's not been in the game. The Spain international, who has bagged four goals in four matches this season, has managed just nine touches - with only keeper Thibaut Courtois having fewer. And that doesn't include the two he had after picking the ball out of the net...

Jordan Henderson's shot was heading about 10 yards over when it left his boot. The dip on the shot was really quite something.

David Luiz returns. Chelsea concede twice in the opening 45 minutes. Coincidence? Probably. The Chelsea back four has not had much protection from their midfield.

So what of Luiz on his Blues return? He has had more touches of the ball (47) and made more passes (35) than any other Chelsea player.

But the Brazilian is there to protect his own goal - and, according to the numbers, he has done some defending but not enough. He's not made one single tackle, but has made three clearances which is more than any of his team-mates.

Kevin Logan: Matip odds on for best free signing of the season so far?

Robert: Easy to blame Luiz, yet Azpilicueta should have been marking Lovren, Ivanovic gave away the free-kick & Cahill's poor clearance

Chris Fleming: Liverpool showing once again that they only show up against the bigger clubs

Chelsea are trying, the effort is there, but Liverpool are playing that well that they can't get on the ball. I'd put it down to Liverpool playing so well rather than Chelsea being poor.

As good a player as Nemanja Matic is, I don't think he is as mobile enough for this game. He is getting over-run and N'Golo Kante is doing a lot of the work closing down Liverpool.

From the kick-off, Liverpool have looked so composed about what they were going to do. Not one player looks nervous and they look bang at it.

    Chelsea 0-2 Liverpool

Jeers ring around Stamford Bridge as the half-time whistle sounds - Chelsea's fans have watched their team get a right going over from Liverpool in the first 45 minutes.

Liverpool have been vastly superior in every single aspect of the game and it will take some very fast talking from Chelsea manager Antonio Conte to make up the difference here.

Antonio Conte needs to earn his dough now. That was a very tame and lacklustre first half from the hosts, who never looked close to scoring.

Why don't highly-paid managers see what I can see which is that Luiz weakens teams. Chelsea have been sound defensively until they bring him in. I just don't get it. He's awful.

A few boos among mainly silence from the Chelsea fans. Liverpool have been far and away the better side.

Diego Costa has barely featured tonight - whereas against Swansea he was never out of the game - but he does well to get in behind the Liverpool defence now and win a corner. Nothing comes of it.

Peter Collins: And yet Henderson somehow blazed over from 12 yards last week against Leicester... Funny old game!

Jurgen Klopp's English is exemplary anyway but one word he's mastered is clearly 'boom.'

The boss leapt to the fringe of the pitch and continually shouted that while fist pumping like Tim Henman in a Wimbledon semi-final.

    Superb celebration.
