What a finish from Jordan Henderson. He didn't have many options but to take it on from that far out - it must be 30 yards out. There's no way Courtois could have got to that.

    Jordan Henderson

What a goal!!! A stunning goal from Jordan Henderson!

That has silenced most of the fans inside Stamford Bridge and got Jurgen Klopp leaping into the air!

Gary Cahill clears a ball out to Henderson, maybe 30 yards out. He takes a touch and then whips a shot over the dive of Thibaut Courtois and right - right - into the top corner.

The trajectory of that shot was amazing. He doesn't score many but they are often decent. He scored one like that against Manchester City I think last season...

    Chelsea 0-1 Liverpool

Willian bends in a well-flighted free-kick from the Chelsea left but David Luiz is offside as he flicks the header on goal.

Chelsea have three Brazilians in the team now, four if you count Diego Costa.

Very unconvincing stuff from Simon Mignolet as the Liverpool goalkeeper elects to punch a ball away. He barely reaches it and is saved by an offside decision against Nemanja Matic.

We are coming up to the half hour mark and Liverpool have dominated the game, it is as simple as that. Chelsea have tried to come back into it in the last five minutes but the more Chelsea attack the more open they are to being attacked.

Liverpool go forward in numbers and look dangerous.

'Ring of Fire' is ringing out from the away end as the visitors have bossed the opening half hour at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are seeing more of the ball in the last few minutes but are yet to hurt the Liverpool defence.

Liverpool lead and you can't say they don't deserve it. The visitors have dominated possession and territory, as you can see in our graphic below, in the opening half hour. Decent Friday night out in the Big Smoke for the day trippers from Liverpool.

  9. Chelsea asking for troublepublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 16 September 2016

Chelsea may feel sitting deep will combat Liverpool's pace but all it has done so far is invite pressure and trouble.

Antonio Conte looks likes a man with troubles as he tries to fathom a way into this game for a Chelsea side that is currently being over-run. He is gesticulating furiously at his players but the message is not getting across.

Antonio Conte will not be happy with his side's defensive display thus far but at least they now pose a semblance of a threat. David Luiz - back on with some running repairs to his nose - has a shot blocked from 30 yards and then a cross from the left is well cut out by Simon Mignolet.

Christophe Talbotski: Aaaah, PlayStation defending, how I've missed it.

David Simpson: I thought Conté's Chelsea were supposed to be defensive masters. That was amateurish at best.

Christopher David: The ghost of Mourinho's Chelsea has returned.

Liverpool are really singing here. Fine voice it is too.

First defender Joel Matip is able to gallop out from the back, Hansen-esque, and wins a corner and then moments later Daniel Sturridge is afforded all sorts of space on the left wing. Where is the Chelsea defence?

Sturridge steps into the area and flashes a low shot/cross right across the goalmouth. Just needed a toe...

Want to see that Liverpool goal in graphical form? You're in luck.

Philippe Coutinho (10) was the architect, swinging in a wonderful ball from the left to scorer Dejan Lovren (6). Although it doesn't illustrate the positions of the Chelsea players, it isn't too far off showing how much room the Liverpool defender had...

David Luiz is back, and back with a bang. He goes up for a header with Sadio Mane and ends up nutting the back of the forward's head. Blood everywhere, and the Brazilian will have to go off for treatment.

That is Dejan Lovren's first league goal for Liverpool.

At the other end that's nice from David Luiz, pinging a sharp pass into the feet of Diego Costa - whose turn is rendered irrelevant by an offside flag.

Costa glares at the officials but the big man can't get into this game.

It's a well worked free-kick but, when it comes back to Coutinho, my first thought is 'how many do you want free at the back post?'

You've got one Chelsea player around four Liverpool players. It's nothing less than Liverpool deserve, they have been brilliant.

Who at the back for Chelsea is saying 'we have got an overload at the back post?' That was ridculous. It was a very good finish by Lovren.

I'm pretty sure that one of the Liverpool quartet at the back stick was offside when that cross came in but he was moving back, and Dejan Lovren was fine. Just poor defending, but no doubt that Liverpool merit this early advantage.

    Dejan Lovren

That foul from Branislav Ivanovic does prove costly though as Liverpool take the lead from the free-kick!

Liverpool play a one-two, move it back to Philippe Coutinho and when he whips the cross in there are FOUR players unmarked. Dejan Lovren heads the queue and controls a neat side-footed volley into the corner.

Chelsea's defence certainly missed John Terry there.

So Jermaine Jenas reckons Liverpool need more width - and this graphic illustrates his point. Almost half of the away team's attacks have been through the middle in the opening 15 minutes.
