Looks like that fall from Paul Pogba's sliding - and completely fair - challenge has done for Darryl Janmaat. The Watford man is sat on the bench with an ice pack on his left shoulder.

Manchester United know Jose Holebas can chuck the ball in like Rory Delap - but they're still slow to react. Holebas's fling finds the feet of Odion Ighalo, whose flick into the danger area is stabbed out for a corner. The visitors survive the set piece.

Watford right wing-back Darryl Janmaat is dispossessed by Paul Pogba's tentacle-like legs - and the Dutchman is still down.

He clashed heads with Anthony Martial in the first half remember. Maybe that's having an effect. Janmaat's number is up, on comes summer signing Nordin Amrabat.

Watford have barely been out of their half since the restart. Ashley Young thumps a 20-yard volley goalwards as a clearance falls nicely at his feet. But a yellow shirt - that of Valon Behrami - appears from nowhere to bravely block.

Manchester United start on the front foot. Ashley Young, a first-half sub for the injured Anthony Martial, swings in a cross from the left, only for Etienne Capoue to clear with a diving header. But the ball only goes as far as Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swede drags his 20-yard shot well wide.

Here they are. Ref Michael Oliver does a quick head count... 1, 2, 3...22. We're ready. Watford get things rolling again.

Watford's players are keen. They're back out on the Vicarage Road pitch. No sign of Manchester United yet. Jose is probably still flinging a few cups of tea at the dressing room wall.

Elliott, North Greenwich: Yes it's poor from Martial, but there isn't even a debate to be had about whether that's a foul or not. Britos has absolutely clattered through his standing leg.

Debate is still raging - on television, social media and in the BBC Sport office - about whether Anthony Martial was fouled by Miguel Britos in the build-up to Watford's opener.

I reckon Britos nicked the ball before taking Martial out. No foul for me. But then again I was brought up playing in the rough'n'ready Doncaster Sunday Alliance League...

Jose Mourinho will want to see character and personality to get back into this match. Everything Watford have done has been very assured. They've put untold number of crosses into the box. Man United haven't come out of the blocks. I'm sure it can't be that bad for Man United in the second half.

Other than Paul Pogba crashing a long-range shot against the crossbar, few chances have been created by Mourinho's men. Watford deservedly lead.

Manchester United on the attack again. But Marcus Rashford is a bit, er, rash as he thumps a rising shot well over the crossbar after winning back possession. That should be just about that.

A bit of urgency from Manchester United as the clock ticks towards the break. Only a bit, mind. They've offered very little today.
