Joseph S Leon: As much as I hate to say it, it's high time we drop Rooney. He's slowing us down and hindering pogba from playing higher up.

Paul Humphreys: Should have won the game after getting to 1-1. Thrown it away. No organisation whatsoever, what is Mou telling them?

KN: I have never felt Fellaini was a good player. Yet he is played again and again. The curse of Moyes

"Of course we deserved the win," laughs Watford scorer Etienne Capoue in his post-match interview. And who'd argue against that? Not me.

Watford hassled and harried the visitors throughout, forcing them into errors and not letting them find any rhythm. United were lifeless.

  4. Taylor left out by Guidolinpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Southampton v Swansea (14:15 BST)

Swansea head coach Francesco Guidolin was asked about leaving out Neil Taylor from his squad to play Southampton after last week's shenanigans.

Taylor was taken off just before the break against Chelsea and Guidolin later apologised.

"All is forgotten," he says. "I spoke with him (Taylor) yesterday and he is ready for Wednesday when we have another important game against Manchester City (in the EFL Cup)."

    Southampton v Swansea (14:15 BST)

Southampton boss Claude Puel reverts to his Premier League side as there is one change from the defeat by Arsenal last week with striker Shane Long replacing Jay Rodriguez, who is not in the squad.

There are six changes from the Europa League win over Sparta Prague on Thursday as Cedric Soares, Jose Fonte, Ryan Bertrand, Jordy Clasie, Steven Davis and Nathan Redmond all return to the starting line-up.

Swansea left-back Neil Taylor wasn't happy being hauled off just before the break against Chelsea last Sunday and he is left out of the squad completely today. Mo Barrow takes his place in the only change from the starting line-up against the Blues. The club's record signing in striker Borja Baston is on the bench and could make his debut after a thigh injury.

Paul McHale: 1st goal by Watford and the mistake by ref changed the game. Utd players heads went down.the ref didn't have a great game.

Al: Can't wait to hear the ridiculous excuses Mourinho comes up with for being worse than LVG

This will force Mourinho's hand to make changes, will he blame the players? We saw that at Chelsea. and United's players looked dejected and cheesed-off. Watford looked like they were up for it more.

It was significant that Ibrahimovic was the first one off the pitch, he did not look happy at all. The system does not work with two sitting deep in midfield.

The good times are back for Watford, and they played like the Watford team of Graham Taylor of old.

United went to sleep! Just a free kick, there's no pressure on the ball, nobody gets tight to Amrabat and what a finish that is! I think that's his first touch - it's a fantastic finish! So sweet, angles his foot - a peach!
