It's frankly ludicrous that Spurs haven't scored yet.

Son Heung-min cuts in from the left with a lovely drag back and unleashes a right-footed shot that hits his own player.

they're queuing up to hit it on the edge of the area and it's Victor Wanyama who finally hits one - but it's over.

Remember that amazing free-kick Eric Dier scored for England against Russia at the Euros?

He tries to do the same here - but puts it high over the bar.

Just after, Sunderland almost score out of absolutely nothing. Jermain Defoe chases a long punt from the keeper all the way into the Spurs area and nudges it goalwards, but Hugo Lloris saves.

That's the first time the visitors have been in the Spurs box.

Tottenham are at risk of finding this so easy that they forget to stick one in the onion bag.

Son Heung-min is the latest to take a pot shot, 14 yards out, but sticks it over.

Toby Alderweireld's headed that straight at Pickford, that's been a tale of Tottenham so far. He's hit it right at the keeper than to the empty spaces either side of him.

When David Moyes suggested his side would be in a relegation battle this season, he wasn't kidding.

Jordan Pickford makes, at a rough count, his fourth and fifth saves in the first 15 minutes, by stopping Harry Kane's shot from a tight angle and then gathering Toby Alderweireld's effort from the subsequent corner.

Mousa Dembele, making his first start since serving a six-game ban for getting physical with Diego Costa last season, hits a low shot from the edge of the area, but it's easy for Jordan Pickford.

Spurs look good and they almost have a goal to show how good they've been.

Son Heung-min puts the ball in low from the left and Harry Kane, or perhaps a defender, get a touch at the near post and young Jordan Pickford does well to get down and save.

    Spurs are lively.

Son Heung-min gets down the left to put in a lovely cross that nobody fancies getting on to.

Moussa Sissoko, on his first start, regathers it and drives an effort wide from the corner of the area.

Toby Alderweild puts a cross into the Sunderland area on the left, which is cleared to the edge of the box.

Son Heung-min tries to drive back in with the ball but it looks like it hits Jan Kirchoff's hand. They were in close quarters, it would have been difficult to move out the way.

We'll get a proper look at Sunderland's £13.6m signing Didier Ndong today, when he makes his first start for the club.

The Gabon international got 17 minutes in the 3-0 loss to Everton.

He started his career in Tunisia before moving to Lorient in France - other than that, there's not too much known about the powerful midfielder.

Fortunately, the Sunderland Echo, external spoke to Christian Nourry from French Football Weekly who said: “Sunderland have got themselves a born fighter in Ndong.

David Moyes put his cards on the table early by saying Sunderland were in a relegation battle. He’s protecting himself, and I feel he is being very honest and not trying to pull the wool over anyone’s eyes. If you feel that the manager does not fancy the players there, the writing is on the wall. It shows how well Sam did last year.

The Black Cats are lined up in the tunnel in a stripey pink and purple number - it looks like an out of date Vimto.
