    Tottenham v Sunderland (16:30 BST)

    A last-minute reshuffle for Sunderland.

Patrick van Aanholt has been replaced by Jason Denayer, with Donald Love moving to the bench.

That makes my fancy formation graphic obsolete.

I feel Spurs have lost a bit of ground, but they have the stadium extension and are putting the finances into that so the fans will have to be patient.

Tottenham are unbeaten in the league, having won two and drawn two.

  3. 'Sunderland had alarm bells'published at 16:22 British Summer Time 18 September 2016

    Tottenham v Sunderland (16:30 BST)

    Jonathan Pearce
    Match of the Day commentator

"It has been a grizzly week for both clubs. Wembley woe for Spurs ripped their Champions League dreams. Playing there will inspire the opposition, as it did when Arsenal tried the same experiment.

"Sunderland's home hammering by Everton rang alarm bells. They were unlucky to lose at Manchester City on the opening weekend. Since then they've been poor.

"I saw them capitulate 5-1 at the Lane in April 2014. They looked doomed that night but somehow stayed up. They might need another great escape.

"If Tottenham repeat their Stoke form, they should make it 14 home Premier League wins in 16 against the Black Cats."

Thanks Double J for that (backhanded?) compliment...

We turn our attention to White Hart Lane now, where sections of the North and East stands have been removed for a facelift.

Because of the works, Tottenham pitched up at Wembley midweek as 85,011 watched them lose to Monaco.

We're back at the Lane today, where keeper Michel Vorm says the open stands make it a bit breezy - not a bad view if you're a builder though.

Right then, that was me, Jonathan Jurejko. And this is him, Chris Osborne. He's got plenty of chat. Which is good because he's talking you through the final game of the day - Tottenham v Sunderland. Enjoy!

Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend: "We knew if we started fast, got in behind them and got crosses in we’d be a threat and it turned out that way.

"It’s a massive result, we had a bad spell at the end of last season but back to back wins now, and we have the players, so no reason why we can’t carry on."

Simon, Runcorn: When is Manchester United vs Stoke? I can't decide which way it would go-nil nil or a ten goal thriller.

Not too long, Simon - 2 October, in fact.

It was tense. It was nervy. But Southampton have done it. Their first Premier League win of the new season lifts them out of the bottom three.

Marko Arnautovic's goal is the last kick of the game. Palace, who move up to eighth, earn their first Premier League home win of the season. And they have done it in style.

Stoke are still winless and rock bottom. Mark Hughes marches down the touchline with a face like thunder.

Great finish from Marko Arnautovic. Shame it means nothing. The Stoke forward whips in from the edge of the box.

Four minutes of stoppage time at St Mary's. Will Saints see this one out? Or will Swansea nab a barely deserved draw?

Tony Cocozza, London: When are Stoke playing West Ham? With two of the worst defences in PL history, I fancy 20 goals in that one.

Andy: In Peter Coates we ave faith if he sacks Mark or brings someone else in. Once a Stokie always a Stokie.

Peterfeet: Townsend today shows how ridiculous Wilshire was picked by Roy for Euros ahead of him. Madness.

Here's Stoke's day in a nutshell. Jon Walters is picked out by Joe Allen's inch-perfect pass, he cuts inside a Palace defender, then spoons the ball wide. Head in hands.

Borja Baston isn't involved, but Swansea do create their best chance of the game soon after his arrival. Gylfi Sigurdsson stabs a low angled shot which trundles towards the bottom left corner, Saints keeper Fraser Forster finally gets his gloves mucky with a strong one-handed save.

Just over half an hour until kick off at White Hart Lane. Three changes for Tottenham from the Champions League loss to Monaco.

Both Erik Lamela and Christian Eriksen are relegated to the bench, as is Ben Davies.

Midfielder Moussa Sissoko makes his first Spurs start, with Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele also starting.

And it's three changes for Sunderland too, after a 3-0 loss to Everton.

Didier Ndong gets his first start, and is joined in the XI by skipper Lee Cattermole and Steven Pienaar after injuries to the midfield pair.

Jack Rodwell, Duncan Watmore and Lynden Gooch make way.

Little sign of a Swansea comeback on the south coast. The visitors have only mustered two shots on target. Someone might have to file a missing person's report for striker Fernando Llorente.
