Moments later, Club Brugge go so close to pulling a goal back as Jose Izquierdo dances his way into the area and places a shot beyond Kasper Schmeichel, but it strikes the far post.

Spurs threaten from another corner but the men in black shepherd it out of danger in the end. Can the home side find an equaliser here? They have Vincent Janssen and £30m Moussa Sissoko on the bench.

Almost a shocking Champions League debut for Benoit Poulain as the Club Brugge defender plays his pass back to keeper Ludovic Butelle short and he is in a battle with Islam Slimani to get to the ball first. Butelle takes a massive risk, selling Slimani a dummy but it pays off as the ball runs behind both of them and Poulain is able to sweep up.

That's the best chance of the night for Harry Kane as he gambles on a ball forward, gets there ahead of the Monaco defence, but when he pushes it on to his left foot and strikes it's well blocked by Jemerson. 

Sergio Aguero came back out for the second half and Pep Guardiola's decision to keep him on the pitch for the second half almost pays off immediately as the striker gets to Raheem Sterling's cutback, but Yann Sommer does well to deny his shot.

Oh yes, this is more like it from Dele Alli! A dipping volley from 22 yards, connection to die for, clean as a whistle and Danijel Subasic has to push it away.

Alli is playing further forwards since Mousa Dembele came on. It's a yes from me.

Great feet from Dele Alli! The ball is going dead in the corner but he shifts it between his feet and flicks it to Christian Eriksen. Sublime. His cross is good and Harry Kane is only denied by an excellent clearance.
