    Northern Ireland 1-0 San Marino

    John O'Neill
Former Northern Ireland defender on BBC Radio Ulster

San Marino have done well. They have set their stall out with five at the back and not let Northern Ireland get in behind them.

They were defending comfortably and the only time they panicked was for the penalty and that is the difference between the two teams.

We have got to up the tempo and have got to try and isolate the two full backs.

    Scotland 0-0 Lithuania

    Tom English
    BBC Sport Scotland

Everybody getting a little jumpy here at Hampden. Lithuania are very organised and very aggressive. They've improved since their poor Euro qualifying campaign. Slovenia took 77 minutes to score against and Poland didn't score at all in a summer friendly. Still think that Scotland will find a way of winning this. They'll need to. Need a whole lot more from Snodgrass and Ritchie in particular.

  3. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 8 October 2016

    Scotladn 0-0 Lithuania

And it's half time in this game. No goals yet. Scotland will be disappointed.

    Northern Ireland 1-0 San Marino

All of the Northern Ireland danger is coming down the left-hand side.

Shane Ferguson is having a good game.

    Scotland 0-0 Lithuania

Should Scotland have been awarded a penalty? Oliver Burke shows some great footwork to slalom beyond a couple of Lithuanian challenges before he tumbles under the close attention of Girdvainis. No penalty, according to the German referee Tobias Stieler.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 20:31 British Summer Time 8 October 2016

    Northern Ireland 1-0 San Marino

No injury time at all. Northern Ireland lead at the break.

I wouldn't say it's nervy, but at the same time it's not comfortable. San Marino have had three shots.

    Northern Ireland 1-0 San Marino

The best move of the game but Northern Ireland fail to finish it off. Steven Davis breaks at pace, passes it out right to Jamie Ward and then gets the ball back at the edge of the box. Unfortunately for him his first-time shot is skewed well wide of the left post.

And now Ward has a header on target but it's saved by a diving goalkeeper.

  8. Elsewhere in Europe...published at 20:27 British Summer Time 8 October 2016

Robert Lewandowski's second of the game gives Poland a 2-0 lead against Denmark.

This time, the Bayern Munich striker dispatched a penalty past Leicester keeper Kasper Schmeichel after Jannik Vestergaard gave away a foul inside the area.

It's as you were elsewhere in Europe.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 41 mins

    Northern Ireland 1-0 San Marino

Fabio Vitaioli blocks Stuart Dallas off as he goes past and he is the second Sammarinese player booked tonight.

    Northern Ireland 1-0 San Marino

    John O'Neill

That was not a bad effort from Hirsch (35 mins).

You can't take anyone for granted, if you do they can give you a shock.

Northern Ireland have got to play at a high tempo and keep San Marino under pressure.

San Marino always seem to have the time to be able to defend.

    Northern Ireland 1-0 San Marino

Jamie Ward lashes a shot over for Northern Ireland, but this is as attacking a performance from San Marino as I've seen. They go forward again although their attack comes to nothing.

  12. Postpublished at 20:22 British Summer Time 8 October 2016

    Scotland 0-0 Lithuania

Plenty of Scotland pressure, but no goals yet with half an hour gone.

Matt Ritchie's crosses have been causing all sorts of problems but Lithuania are coping with them so far.

    Northern Ireland 1-0 San Marino

BBC Northern Ireland's Richard Petrie at Windsor Park

The fans are back in full voice after Northern Ireland's 'Mr Dependable', skipper Steven Davis, eases the early frustration by giving Northern Ireland the lead.

Davis was also on target the last time San Marino visited Windsor Park for a World Cup qualifier, in October 2008.

That one ended 4-0 in favour of the men in green, with record goalscorer David Healy, Grant McCann and Kyle Lafferty also on the scoresheet.

Following that defeat, San Marino went on a remarkable barren run by failing to score in their next 20 games, their goalscoring drought lasting almost four years, until August 2012.

  14. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Northern Ireland 1-0 San Marino

Shane Ferguson is caught napping on the opposition half and San Marino get the ball and break. Mirko Palazzi goes down the left and crosses it to Adolfo Hirsch, but he lashes his shot over from the edge of the box. That was a real chance though.

    Northern Ireland 1-0 San Marino

San Marino have a free-kick which Matteo Vitaioli takes but Mattia Stefanelli's header is so far wide, I'm not sure it will count as a shot.

Northern Ireland still having most of the ball following their goal, although Shane Ferguson and Steven Davis have twice controlled the ball out of play when they might have got a cross in.
