Norway v Northern Ireland (19:45 BST)

Northern Ireland achieved their highest-ever Fifa world ranking of 20th thanks to last month's World Cup qualifier wins over San Marino and the Czech Republic.

A win or a draw away to Norway could prove crucial to maintaining a high ranking in the hope of being one of the four seeded teams for the draw for the World Cup play-offs on 17 October.

The seedings for November's two-legged ties will be based on the Fifa standings released the day before the draw.

Northern Ireland manager Michael O'Neill on Sky Sports: "We tried to focus on the game, but with the early kick-off it's difficult to stop players from getting information. I feel sorry for Scotland.

"It has taken pressure off in this game, but we have to play properly.

"If I didn't have to get the team in 75 minutes before kick-off, I may have rested players. They have been good, they understand the situation and we will manage the game if we have to withdraw players for the play-offs."

Bob Moss: Probably better for Scotland to lose now rather than getting hammered in a play off game and feeling worse.

Miggmaester: I feel for SCO and their fans. They wanted to go to Russia, just fell a little short in one or two games. ENG need a leader.

Michael Reid: Scotland simply don't deserve to go to the qualifiers... terrible performance! Fletcher, Berra, Bannan, Martin - useless!

    Gareth SouthgateImage source, Getty Images

England manager Gareth Southgate on ITV: "We haven't scored the number of goals we would have liked to but we gave three full debuts and wanted to try something. A bit more quality in the final third is what was missing.

"They had a packed defence, we were a fraction off. Running at people on that surface doesn't work, we needed one-twos and quick passes.

"It's a completely different challenge against Brazil and Germany next month.

"Put today into context. We made seven changes, that inevitably means that you will be disjointed at times. Harry Winks showed real calm, his use of the ball was excellent.

"Three at the back worked in some aspects but we are still open in counter-attack."
