Bring out the bubbles. A winning start for West Ham at their new home and you can't ask for much more than that.

They will face sterner tests than tonight when the Premier League season gets under way. 

A little over a week to go until top flight domestic football swings into action. Where has the summer gone?

The training will go up another notch next week and West Ham will really hit the ground running to prepare for that London derby against Chelsea.

All over and Brazil are held by South Africa in their opening game at the Olympics. A disappointing result for the Olympics hosts, and the players know it. Gabriel Jesus is crouched on the floor, shaking his head as Neymar stands and stares off into the distance.

Next up for West Ham is a friendly against Juventus on Sunday, before they kick off their Premier League campaign at Chelsea a week on Monday.

Tough to draw too many conclusions about their prospects for the coming campaign from that game - which had the feel of a friendly - but there were definitely some eye-catching performances. 

Goalscorers Cheikhou Kouyate and Sofiane Feghouli were both lively, while Reece Oxford was particularly impressive in defence.

Josh Emery: I'm liking the look of the new home ground for West Ham... do you think they can still progress?  

Two minutes to go in Brazil, where it is still goalless. The hosts have not impressed against a side that has had 10 men for much of the second half.

West Ham will find out who they'll play in the play-off round when the draw is made at Uefa's headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland at 13:00 BST.

The first leg will be played on Thursday, 18 August and the return leg will be on 25 August.

It was a little bit disappointing at the final whistle that so many West Ham fans had chosen to get away early and not stay to celebrate a convincing win but they will be back on Sunday [for the game against Juventus] and they will eagerly await the new season.

BBC Sport's Sam Merton at a FanZone in Rio: "The fans here in Praça Mauá think it's just a matter of time. Brazil keep knocking at the door, and the noise levels rise with each chance. There are some great football shirts among the crowd here too, including this amazing retro Flamengo number."

Job done for West Ham as they mark their first game at the London Stadium with a comfortable win. They go through to the Europa League play-off round - one round away from the group stage.

The 90 minutes are up and we are into stoppage time. West Ham won their first game at the Boleyn Ground 3-0 in 1904 and it looks like they are going to kick off the London Stadium era with the same scoreline.

Really opening up here - a superb reverse pass from Neymar carves open South Africa but Gabriel Barbosa's shot is saved by Itumeleng Khune.

Final change for West Ham as Andy Carroll makes way from promising youngster Ashley Fletcher. The 20-year-old striker joined the Hammers from Manchester United in July.

This game is fizzling towards its inevitable conclusion with just four minutes to go. 

NK Domzale know the game is lost and neither side are being particularly adventurous.

Another standing ovation as Sofiane Feghouli is replaced by 16-year-old forward Domingos Quina.

Manchester City fans look away now - your new signing Gabriele Jesus has just missed a sitter! He has the ball put on a plate for him by Luan, who feeds a pass towards the far post, but Jesus hits the woodwork from a yard or two out.
