West Ham are following in the footsteps of plenty of other clubs in leaving behind an ageing ground to take up residency in a fancy new stadium.

As with any move, there's going to be teething problems or bits of touching up still to be done so we're after your experiences of first games at new stadiums. Ended up stepping in wet cement? Seen a ball get kicked over an unfinished stand and hit a car in the carpark behind it?

West Ham have a job to do - Bilic

For West Ham boss Slaven Bilic, tonight is going to be like wearing a pair of new shoes for the first time - uncomfortable, unfamiliar but given a bit of time they'll feel as snug as anything.

"We have moved just 10 minutes, it is still east London," said Bilic.

"We have to be positive and I'm totally positive, the players are not afraid of it, they like it. They liked it from the start.

"It is going to be hard to replace the Boleyn Ground like it was hard to replace Highbury or at Southampton, it is a different kind of stadium."

    Hello!

The sporting world may be largely focused on Rio de Janeiro right now as the start of the Olympics rapidly approaches but for a few thousand football fans in east London right now the only thing of interest is football.

West Ham host NK Domzale in the second leg of the third qualifying round for the Europa League and not only do the Hammers have the pressure of having to putt on a show in front of their fans at their new home but they also have to win, having lost 2-1 in Slovenia.

    No pressure.

As the start of one Olympics approaches, the legacy of another will be on show tonight as West Ham open the doors to their new home - the London Stadium.

The Hammers have packed up and left behind the old-school Boleyn Ground to make the 3.4 mile move to their swish digs in Stratford.

Some 54,000 will be scoping out their new surroundings, checking out the nearby pubs and marvelling at the view from a seat that could become their own for the years to come.

Might want to bring the binoculars if you are up in the cheap seats, though...
