    Northampton 1-2 West Brom

West Brom are comfortable and make a change.

Off comes debutant Brendan Galloway and on comes in his place Kane Wilson.

The 16-year-old was born in 2000.

That makes you feel old, doesn't it?

Defender Scott Wharton, 18, equalises for the Blackburn to make it 2-2 against Crewe at Ewood Park.

Ian Morris levels from the spot for in-form League One side Scunthorpe against Championship side Bristol City. It's 1-1.

Championship side Preston lead Oldham 1-0 thanks to a goal from Eoin Doyle.

  5. MISSED PENALTYpublished at 21:16 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

Oh no! Gillingham blow a golden chance to equalise. The League One side win a penalty but Bradley Dack - last season's top scorer - blazes well over the bar.

    Chelsea 3-2 Bristol Rovers

This is all far too uncomfortable for Chelsea. Bristol Rovers are not out of this one by any means with just under 20 minutes to go.

The Blues are without a home clean sheet in 13 games in all competitions, their longest run since August 1961. John Terry warms up on touchline, prompting cheers from both Chelsea and Bristol Rovers fans.

    Burton 0-3 Liverpool

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp looks concerned

Emre Can takes some treatment from the physio but hobbles back on.

It is not as serious as initially thought.

The German midfielder is then taken off as a precaution though and Kevin Stewart comes on.

Almost a fourth for Swansea as Nathan Dyer plays a one-two with Ki Sung-yueng, but drills his shot just wide.

No danger of a comeback in this game. Swansea are well in control.

    Crystal Palace 2-0 Blackpool

If Blackpool want to stay in this season's EFL Cup then they had better get a move on. The Tangerines have half a chance at Selhurst Park, teenage midfielder Bright Osayi-Samuel curling into the hands of Palace debutant Steve Mandanda.

    Burton 0-3 Liverpool

A problem for Liverpool, big problem.

Midfielder Emre Can went chasing after a Burton defender but pulled up while trying to make a challenge.

His right leg landed on the ground before having to hop up after twisting his right ankle.

    Can he continue?

    Exeter 1-1 Hull

I mentioned earlier that Exeter have a 15-year-old in their defence today - Ethan Ampadu. The son of former Arsenal, West Brom and Swansea Kwame has not looked out of place at all, and even had the confident to do a cheeky Cryuff turn on Greg Luer. Pulled it off as well.

Still all square as we enter the final 30 minutes of normal time.

    Everton 1-0 Yeovil

Everton aren't looking in any trouble against their League Two visitors - but they can't grab that important second goal. Romelu Lukaku pokes across the Yeovil goal, before James McCarthy smashes Aaron Lennon's cutback into Row H.

  15. Champions League latestpublished at 21:03 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

Celtic trail 2-0 to Hapoel Beer Sheva in Israel and are now one goal away from exiting the Champions League. Live text commentary here.

Roma are facing elimination after going down to nine men against FC Porto, who lead 2-1 on aggregate.

  16. CLOSE!published at 21:03 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

    Chelsea 3-2 Bristol Rovers

Bristol Rovers are giving as good as they have got at the moment.

They are within a whisker of an equaliser as Ellis Harrison skims the bar with a shot from distance, before Jermaine Easter brings a fine, full-stretch save out of Asmir Begovic with a strike from 25 yards.

The only noise at Stamford Bridge is from the away end. The Rovers fans are loving what they are seeing.

GOAL - Watford 1-0 Gillinghampublished at 21:02 British Summer Time 23 August 2016

    Odion Ighalo (58 mins)

Ah. Sorry Gillingham fans. Odion Ighalo, Watford's top scorer last season, bags within moments of coming on as a substitute. Troy Deeney sets up his strike partner, who needs a couple of bites of the cherry before converting.

    Watford 0-0 Gillingham

The longer this stays goalless, the more Gillingham might fancy their chances of nicking a winner. Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has a pop from the edge of the Hornets area, but his volley lacks sting and dribbles wide.

    Peterborough 0-3 Swansea

It's going to take something mighty impressive for Peterborough to get back into this game. They have three goals to make up and, at the moment, that is looking highly unlikely. No real chances yet in this half.

Swansea, meanwhile, made a change at half-time as defender Federico Fernandez replaced Jordi Amat.
