    Chelsea 0-0 Bristol Rovers

Chelsea have Ruben Loftus-Cheek playing just off new signing Michy Batshuayi but it is Pedro who creates the first moment of excitement. He slides in for a cross but can't quite reach it at the far post. Bristol Rovers survive.

Burton - in yellow - have started brightly at the Pirelli Stadium and have Liverpool on the back foot in the first five minutes but cannot force Reds goalkeeper Simon Mignolet into a save.

Sixty-nine seconds was all it took for Championship Brighton to take the lead in this one against their League One opponents.

Sam Adekugbe was unleashed down the left-hand side for the visitors and rifled in a left-foot shot into the roof of the net past Simon Eastwood.

Chances of an upset perhaps already over in this one.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Blackpool

Let's hope Blackpool have a pair of muscular centre-halves. Christian Benteke is again causing some bother, using his frame to throw himself at Yohan Cabaye's inswinging cross. But the referee reckons the new Palace striker unfairly uses his strength and blows up for a foul.

The early signs are promising for Benteke and Palace. Not so for Blackpool.

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Blackpool

Stick it onto his head! There's not much doubt how Palace will look to get the best out of Christian Benteke. The burly Belgian has a chance in the opening stages of his debut, but heads straight at Blackpool keeper Sam Slocombe.
