Jack Payne grabbed a late winner for Huddersfield to maintain Newcastle's losing start to the season.
Huddersfield head coach David Wagner: "Now we know we can also win a game without ball possession. The hard work was unbelievable.
"I'm proud of my boys. We showed an outstanding fighting attitude, we were brave and stuck to our plan of a deeper block. In the first half we were very good. You need luck to win at Newcastle away and we had our luck in the second half."

Norwich's Timm Klose is in the right place at the right time to head clear as Sheffield Wednesday had the ball in their opponent's six-yard box.
The Canaries clear the resulting corner away, before a deep cross from Banny Bannan back into the area almost finds Kieran Lee, but he can't quite reach it. The Owls are enjoying a good spell.

Michael Morrison scored a second-half winner for Birmingham City as they beat Leeds at Elland Road for the second season running to leave Garry Monk's side pointless.
Leeds United head coach Garry Monk: "We were excellent in the first half but our softness cost us in the second.
"We gave two soft goals away and gave ourselves an uphill battle again. It's very frustrating. We'll be in at Thorp Arch tomorrow preparing for Tuesday night and trying to put it right."

Speaking of the Robins, Tammy Abraham scored a 95th-minute winner to give Bristol City their second win in a row, after Tom Naylor had cancelled out Abraham's earlier strike in the closing stages.
Bristol City head coach Lee Johnson: "I was frustrated we lost the lead when we maybe didn't deserve to do so.
"I always felt we'd get one more chance. Jimmy (Jonathan Kodjia) rolled his man and Tammy made sure from close range. There were a lot of good performances out there and we showed good character to come away with a win."
