I think the rain has slightly eased at the Etihad. But there are only a handful of German fans in their seats.

Can you imagine being on a Uni course with Steve McClaren?

That bizarre fate awaits those on the Sporting Directorship Masters at Manchester Metropolitan University at the moment. Joining Steve on the course are a host of sporting names including former England wing Marc Cueto, former goalkeeper Karen Bardsley and current Blackpool boss Gary Bowyer.

Anyway, former Magpies boss McClaren reckons he was "the right man at the wrong time" at Newcastle.

"What Rafa has done is gone in and gained control. It needed a big change," he said.

"He has bought players with Championship experience, leaders in the dressing room, which was something that was badly needed."

I would imagine they will have to make a decision very soon. If fans are marooned in the city centre then that could play a part.

It feels like it's about midnight out there...

Huddersfield Town have won five of their six league games and drawn the other

Huddersfield Town - Championship leaders and the league's only unbeaten team - face a tricky trip to Chris Hughton's Brighton, who are coming off the back of two successive defeats after a good start to the season.

The glamour fixture is down at Loftus Road where seventh-place QPR host Rafa Benitez's second-place Newcastle, who have won their last four league games. Third-place Barnsley are at mid-table Wolves.

Down at the bottom, Blackburn - with two points from six games - are at Leeds, who are two places above them.

  9. Unai Emery? Who's he?published at 19:02 British Summer Time 13 September 2016

    PSG v Arsenal (19:45 BST)

Spanish manager Unai Emery replaced Laurent Blanc as Paris St-Germain boss this summer after winning a third straight Europa League title with Sevilla.

Blanc had secured a second successive domestic treble, winning the league by 31 points, but failure at the Champions League quarter-finals for the second year in a row cost him as PSG's owners moved ruthlessly.

The Qatar Investment Authority bought a controlling stake in the French club in May 2011. Since then they have spent over £600m on transfers but are yet to see the return they crave - success in Europe's premier club competition.

Clearly the idea is for 44-year-old Basque Emery to parachute in his winning formula from the south of Spain.

But it's not been the most auspicious of starts; PSG are seventh in the table after losing one and drawing another of their first four league games this season.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes Zlatan Ibrahimovic represents a significant loss to PSG.

Ibrahimovic moved to Manchester United in the summer and has scored five goals in five games.

"They will continue to be the dominant team in France but they lost more than a player with Ibrahimovic," Wenger told Arsenal Player., external

"He was the leader, the captain, a charismatic carrier of the ambition of the club and it's always difficult to measure, when you lose a player of that stature, how big the damage is.

"At the moment they have also changed managers so they are trying to find their feet."
