Fair to assume Pep Guardiola will expect Manchester City to win at the Etihad Stadium tonight.

Guardiola has never failed to get to the semi-final stage in seven previous Champions League campaigns, four with Barcelona and three at Bayern Munich.

His opening night record is particularly impressive, with five wins, two draws and 17 goals scored, one of which came against Manchester City in 2014.

The biggest problem against Borussia Monchengladbach tonight might be the weather.

Thunder rolling round the Etihad. Lightning has lit the air - and the pitch won't need watering.
