Ovidiu Popescu charges down the left wing but loses the ball to Pablo Maffeo right by the corner flag. the teenage fullback calmly brings the ball forward. He's done well so far, although hasn't been particularly tested.

Aleksander Kolarov tries his luck from distance, but his shot smacks off a Steaua defender's leg and behind for a corner, from which John Stones heads wide. 

"Joe Hart, he'll pass when he wants" is the chant now from the home fans.

Hart boats a 100% success rate from his passes so far. Can't argue with that.

Slowbear: With a 5-0 deficit from the first leg, I think Steaua can Bucharest day for the next round of the Champions League!!

I feel sorry for Joe Hart that this game could well be his last in a Manchester City shirt. Awful stuff. I feel the need to speed watch the 2005 Champions League final as some sort of palate cleanser.

Better! Manchester City look to be trying to catch out the Steaua defence with balls over the top and they almost succeed as Yaya Toure attempts to cushion Jesus Navas' lofted pass into the path of Kelechi Iheanacho, but Valentin Cojocaru just gets there ahead of the young City forward.

Muniru Sulley is playing for Steaua tonight. Muniru is the brother of former Portsmouth player Sulley Muntari.

Be prepared for more useless trivia like the above unless this game livens up.

Steaua, to their credit, are well organised and are making it difficult for Manchester City to break down, but they are defending as though there's only a goal in it. I think they can afford to be a bit more adventurous.

Manchester City are in total control but they have been unable to embellish it with a goal. Joe Hart so far has had virtually nothing to do apart from a couple of examples of short, sharp distribution.

Borussia Monchengladbach are cruising through against Young Boys but Ajax could be in trouble.

They have just conceded the opener to Russian side FC Rostov, who now lead 2-1 on aggregate.

A corner, but not for Manchester City. A Steaua Bucharest cross deflects behind and there might be some work to do for Joe Hart.

The first corner is headed behind by a City player, before the second is cleared by Yaya Toure.

I'm fairly convinced that nothing in tonight's football will top a dog on a roof.

Yaya Toure was limping a little earlier after getting a nick to the back of his ankle after challenging for a header. He looks OK now as he attempts to slip a pass through to Jesus Navas on the right, but the latter had just strayed offside.

A clear highlight of tonight's football. Dog on the roof. Lawro and Denno were discussing him pre kick-off, and the tv cameras just spent 30 seconds focusing on him sitting down and taking it all in.

Fabian Delph has a pop from way, way out. It's low and weak and Valentin Cojocaru has enough time to make a cup of tea before scooping up the ball.
