Wigan have been second-best for much of the game at Hillsborough, but they are starting to turn the screw on Sheffield Wednesday.

First, Adam Le Fondre can't pick out Will Grigg for a tap in, before Yanic Wildschut draws a save from Owls keeper Kieren Westwood.

Barnsley are back up to second!published at 16:41 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

    Preston 1-2 Barnsley

It may be a tight old top six in the Championship, but on-loan Newcastle forward Adam Armstrong has scored to propel Barnsley back up to second place.

Armstrong, who scored twice on his Coventry debut last season, has grabbed a debut goal again.

    Leeds 0-1 Huddersfield

Another attacking change from Leeds head coach Garry Monk, as Kemar Roofe replaces Hadi Sacko.

It's not been Huddersfield's best performance of the season, but they've still been good value for their lead.

  4. Wolves strike latepublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

    Wolves 1-0 Burton

Burton's Lucas Akins missed a penalty in the first half, and his miss looks a lot more costly now.

Prince Oniangue smashes in a half-volley, and Wolves are 1-0 up with 10 minutes to go.

And could Bristol City be in for a late show too? Tammy Abraham (who else, right?) has pegged it back to 2-1 at Rotherham.

Preston 1-1 Barnsley, Brighton 0-2 Brentford

Sam Winnall's goal earlier today had temporarily sent Barnsley, only promoted from League One via the play-offs in May, up to the heady heights of second in the Championship. However, Aiden McGeady has scored his first for Preston to spoil the Tykes' joy.

And how about this for a potential surprise? Widely-tipped Brighton trail Brentford 2-0 at home.

  6. goal

GOAL: QPR 1-1 Blackburnpublished at 16:31 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

    Sam Gallagher

    Well, this is unexpected.

Blackburn weren't predicted to have much luck at QPR today, but Sam Gallagher nods a header beyond Alex Smithies and Rovers are level.

There are still around 15 minutes for them to press on and pick up a first win of the season.

    Leeds 0-1 Huddersfield

Leeds are trying to turn things around against Huddersfield, but they just don't seem to have the quality up front this season.

Swedish striker Marcus Antonsson is off, replaced by Souleymane Doukara. United are yet to test Danny Ward in the Terriers goal.

Elsewhere in the third tier, Oxford United fans will be crowing right now as they not only lead the derby with Swindon by 2-0 with Chris Maguire's double but their fiercest rivals are now down to 10 men after Lloyd Jones' dismissal for a second-bookable offence.

Not a good day for the Robins.

  9. Morris has Iron dancingpublished at 16:29 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

Josh Morris has been a very shrewd summer signing with his goalscoring form for Scunthorpe - he's now got six in the league and seven in all competitions.

The Iron are dominating Southend, leading 3-0, and would also go third in League One if things stay as they are.

  10. goal

GOAL: Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 Wiganpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

    Fernando Forestieri

Sheffield Wednesday were behind early doors against Wigan, but they now lead thanks to Fernando Forestieri - who, of course, was heavily linked with a move away from Hillsborough at the start of the season.

  11. goal

GOAL: QPR 1-0 Blackburnpublished at 16:24 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

    Tjaronn Chery

QPR get a free-kick just over 30 yards out - surely too far to shoot from there?

Tjaronn Chery disagrees, and he makes the perfect contact to send the ball flying past Jason Steele in the Rovers goal.

Owen Coyle's side heading for their fifth defeat in six games.

  12. Goals aplenty in the Championshippublished at 16:23 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

Norwich take a two-goal lead over Cardiff, Russell Martin heading in from a corner.

Struggling Rotherham are also now leading Bristol City 2-0, with Greg Halford's shot deflecting in despite Robins keeper Richard O'Donnell getting a big hand on it.

That Rotherham result has Leeds in the relegation zone as it stands.

Carlisle United - unbeaten in 90 minutes so far this season - were behind to Leyton Orient but they have pulled it back again to level and protect their precious record as it stands.

Paul McCallum had given the Os the lead, but Charlie Wyke's goal early in the season half has this one on a knife-edge.

  14. goal

GOAL: Leeds 0-1 Huddersfieldpublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

    Aaron Mooy

Australia midfielder Aaron Mooy has been a revelation for Huddersfield since joining on loan from Manchester City, and now he's put leaders Huddersfield in front at Leeds.

United keeper Rob Green might feel he could have done better, but it was a sweetly-struck long-range effort to beat him.

Unfortunate scenes afterwards as well, as a fan runs on to the field after the goal, seemingly trying to confront Green before he's taken off by stewards.

Clayton Donaldson had a penalty saved in the first half, but he makes no mistake with his second attempt from the spot.

Fulham have a huge amount of work to do to get back into it at Craven Cottage, having seen Michael Madl sent off just before the break.

    Sheffield Wednesday 1-1 Wigan

Wigan started brightly with Will Grigg's goal at Sheffield Wednesday, before the Owls fought their way back to level terms through Steven Fletcher's shot.

The Latics have brought new signing Adam Le Fondre off the bench to try to swing the momentum back in their favour.

Who will be the EFL's first managerial casualty?

Martin Dickinson: Monks results at Leeds ain't any good, perhaps he's the first to get the chop????

S J Richards: Hope I'm wrong but Trollope at Cardiff needs a swift change in fortune. Tan will not put up with a relegation battle

    QPR 0-0 Blackburn

QPR's match with bottom-placed Blackburn was a quiet affair in the first half, so R's boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink turns to his bench for inspiration.

Conor Washington comes on for Sebastian Polter, and Naser El-Khayati almost gives the hosts the lead with a fiercely-struck shot, which Jason Steele does well to keep out.

Who will be the EFL's first managerial casualty?

It may have been a quiet old first half in the Championship, but that doesn't mean we're not still asking the big question of the day - who'll be the first managerial casualty across the EFL this season?
