"Michael Keane looks ready for the next level to me. His decision making and his composure on the ball are outstanding. Burnley fans won't thank me for saying it but he could be on his way to a bigger club soon."

Alphonse Rawlinson: Burnley have been excellent at this. They stifle opposition on their narrow pitch at Turf Moor, go for set pieces and nick a win.

Andrew Soar: Arsenal's decision making with the final ball has been poor. Mesut Ozil having one of his frustrating days.

Jason Vowles: What are the odds on Burnley playing yet another long ball? Its tragic, old, Championship style football. Bore off

"It was such a composed cross from Matthew Lowton, it was so tempting to shoot, but he got his head up and picked out Sam Vokes who has to do better from there. He will have wanted to look up and see the offside flag, but it wasn't there."

Sam Vokes - you should have scored.

Matt Lowton dinks in an inch-perfect ball from the right which finds the head of Vokes.  But the forward directs the ball wide of Petr Cech's goal from eight yards.

That was a golden chance for the Wales international.

Is it going to be one of those days for the Germany World Cup winner?

    Just shoot!

Arsenal's Alex Iwobi, Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott string passes together in the Burnley area but none of the trio fail to get a shot away. Burnley clear.

Aside from the half-chances, the home side have been fairly comfortable.

Tottenham's Christian Eriksen: "Manchester City have shown that when they have the time they have the ability to open teams up with the ball. The plan to press is for every game, not just today.

"We can take this win with us - it is a big boost to beat a team that has not lost yet this season. We don't let in many goals. That is a quality that we want to take with us along with the pressing, I think we just need to improve the finishing."

There's bright sun in the half Arsenal are attacking. Hint for Arsenal: Fling some high balls into the area.

    That's unlikely to happen, however.

At the other end, Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi recovers his composure to dispossess Sam Vokes as he threatened on the left wing. It promises to be quite a battle between the two at Turf Moor.

But it's a wasted delivery from Santi Cazorla as George Boyd clears at the near post.

Halfway up the pitch Arsenal's Shkodran Mustafi is incensed after ref Craig Pawson awards a free-kick to the home side after the German was judged to have fouled Sam Vokes.

The defender even demonstrated to the referee that Vokes had backed into him, by...er... backing into the official.

At the other end, Theo Walcott, who has scored in three consecutive games for the first time since May 2013 after finding the net in midweek, screws a 15-yard angled shot wide.

The Gunners are building a head of steam.

    They now have a corner.

Jeff Hendrick leads a Burnley break from the halfway line. He plays in George Boyd on the left, but the former Hull player strikes wide of Petr Cech's near post - he had three team-mates in support.

Bit of a waste that, George.

  20. 'We're still top'published at 16:41 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    Tottenham 2-0 Manchester City

    Pablo ZabaletaImage source, Getty Images

Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta: "I agree with [what Pep Guardiola said], you have to recognise when the opponents are better. Today was not our best performance but also Tottenham are a really good team. That's it.

"We won six games in a row but we knew we would lose one day. Today was that day. Now it's about how we learn. The first half Tottenham were really intense and created a lot of chances. The second half was more 50-50.

"We were not clinical at all. This is the hardest competition and you have to play really well every week to win any game. We cannot be happy with this performance but we are still top of the league."
