  1. CLOSE!published at 4 mins

    Burnley 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal go so, so close to breaking the deadlock - which has lasted all of four minutes.

Alexis Sanchez's angled strike appears to be goalbound but takes a deflection off team-mate Theo Walcott and drifts an inch or two wide of Burnley's right-hand upright.

  2. HALF-CHANCEpublished at 3 mins

    Burnley 0-0 Arsenal

Arsenal's Hector Bellerin breaks down the left. The ball eventually falls at the feet of Alex Iwobi whose first-time curling effort from 20 yards almost clears Turf Moor.

    The Gunners have started well.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino: "It was a great, great victory for us against this opposition. I am very happy. Sometimes when you have a plan, it is good, sometimes less so, but Manchester City are a great team. It is difficult to play against them. We need to follow this after the international match and we have more tough games after the international break.".

On Son and Lamela's apparently argument over the penaIty: "It happens in all  teams. Everyone can miss a penalty. We will analyse, but it is not a big issue.

"The collective performance was strong. It is too early to take this into the table yet. We are still creating out philosophy."

    Leicester City

Leicester city manager Claudio Ranieri: "I'm very happy because Southampton deserved to win. They played better. We conceded too many chances to score a goal.

  7. 'Wenger has a soft spot for Burnley'published at 16:30 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    Burnley v Arsenal (16:30 BST)

    Guy Mowbray
    Match of the Day commentator

Arsene Wenger has huge respect, and maybe even a soft spot, for Burnley.

After his last visit to Turf Moor, a 1-0 Gunners win in April 2015, he praised Sean Dyche's team and said it 'would be a shame if they go down'.

I suspect the sentiments remain the same today, with the Clarets' economic prudence perhaps contributing to his admiration.

They've been a little more extravagant for this latest return to the Premier League, breaking their transfer record twice in August, but Monday's win over Watford showed that they've spent wisely on Jeff Hendrick and Steven Defour.

Defour's superb set-piece delivery gives them much more of a chance in games like this.

More from Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola to BBC Sport: "It was a tough game, we knew that. Tottenham have been a very good team for the last three years, fighting. It was difficult, they were better so congratulations to Tottenham,

"We were little late in all aspects. We could not have so many chances, in many aspects they were better than us.

"They are sharper for the second ball, in England you have to control that. Football is 90 minutes, we had a good start but we didn't have the game. We had problems to control the game.

"In the second half it was similar. We created enough chances to score but they missed a penalty."

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola: "They were better. We were not in the right positions so congratulations to them.

"The first goal is quite similar to the one we conceded in Glasgow, it is always difficult to recover. We played much better in the last 15 or 20 minutes. We knew they would press us high, we wanted that but they did it better.

"[Losing] It is part of the game, part of our job. I never thought that we would not lose a game, you can't imagine that. It is normal to the process, sometimes it happens and it can help us improve.

"I am not here for the talk around me, I am here to do my job. It is October, you cannot imagine my team is already done. I am new here. So far it has been an amazing performance but we need more, we have to work more, it is what it is.

"At the end of the season you can win and still realise that you are not perfect."

  12. 'Arsenal is now a global club'published at 16:25 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    Burnley v Arsenal (16:30 BST)

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger on his 20 years in charge: "A lot has changed. The art of management has changed, the club has grown bigger, it is now a global club. Twenty years ago it wasn't as big, or as expensive.

"Football has become popular, it's become a world sport. Everything has changed and the pressure has intensified too.

"But what hasn't changed is the solidarity inside the club. That's always stayed the same."

  15. 'Why has Wenger been questioned?'published at 16:20 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    Burnley v Arsenal (16:30 BST)

Burnley manager Sean Dyche on Arsene Wenger: "Arsene, for me, is one of the top managers without a shadow of a doubt.

"A lot of respect goes out from me, as a young manager, looking at him and what he's done... the way he puts a team together, the style, the manner.

"As managers we all understand the fan mentality, the thirst and desire to win and be successful, but from a manager's point of view you have to scratch your head and wonder why he's questioned at times."

  19. 'Wenger should have say on replacement'published at 16:14 British Summer Time 2 October 2016

    Burnley v Arsenal (16:30 BST)

    Mark Lawrenson
Former Republic of Ireland defender on MOTD2 Extra

Arsene Wenger has had to contend with Chelsea and all their money during a lot of his time in charge. Wenger is up there on a pedestal for me. He's built the club and taking it forward. Goodness only knows who will replace him. And why wouldn't you want to pick his brains on the next manager to come in?

What Wenger has done is fail to win the league a couple of times in the last few seasons. But he's still been a fantastic manager. Arsenal fans make me laugh they bring out banners calling for his head, then they win a few games and they want to burn the banners!

    Lawro's prediction: Burnley 0-2 Arsenal

Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama: "We showed how solid we are, we enjoy working hard.

"We had to make sure that we kept a clean sheet, kept focus. It was tough but we always felt hat we were strong and we knew we could get something.

"We know we can beat anyone. If we continue playing like this it can take us somewhere good, somewhere better than last season."
