Brilliant play from Liverpool. Firmino's first touch was very good but what a wonderful goal saving tackle from Valencia.

    He timed it to perfection.

Chance! No! Philippe Coutinho flicks the ball around the corner to send Roberto Firmino into the penalty area, but Antonio Valencia makes a slide tackle of dreams, perfectly timed and executed.

    Sensational.

Come on then, let's have a winner from someone. Nobody likes a 0-0, especially on a Monday night. Kids will have been allowed to stay up for this.

Manchester United's first corner of the night is headed wide by Marouane Fellaini. Never a danger.

Jake Saunders: United fans have to admit that their seasons gone by would be so different if it wasn't for the brilliance of David de Gea

John Richardson: Classic Jose, planned perfectly, United to get a late winner, trust me.

John C: Best signing United made in the last 3 years was the IT guy who broke the fax machine with Da Gea's RM transfer docs in it

    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

Wayne Rooney is on the right wing for Manchester United, it's almost walking football as the men in blue keep it for a spell. All very nice and easy, playing like they're 4-0 up .

    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

Are we going to get a late winner? Jose Mourinho will be pleased with a point surely. The onus to score is on Liverpool.

Adam Lallana is the best attacking player on the pitch tonight, easily. A wonderful pass finds Roberto Firmino, Kop end, but he's offside.

James Milner is in the wars again, a whack to the head from that corner but he's able to continue.

  16. GREAT SAVE!published at 70 mins

    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

Woooof! What an effort! Out of nothing, Philippe Coutinho almost puts LIverpool ahead with a screamer.

Nothing on, 30 yards out, he shifts the ball and his balance slightly to the right and then arcs in a fabulous, dipping shot that is flying into the top corner until David de Gea gets his hand up to push it away for a corner.

    Stunning, stunning save!

It has gone very scrappy now.

Can has had one good chance for Liverpool, Ibrahimovic should have scored but no one has really taken the game by the scruff of the neck.

Bob Nudd: Sturridge is a maverick. Doesn't work in the Klopp system.

Aidan Curran: ManU would be a decent Championship side without De Gea...

Aaron Lamb: It's not against the DNA of the club (see 21:20), Fergie used to do the same in big games away from home all the time #revisionism
