Dodgy stuff from Loris Karius in the Liverpool goal! He tries to play it to Dejan Lovren but finds Paul Pogba instead! He looks up and picks out Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the middle but he's offside.

This sweeper keeper stuff is fraught with danger.

If Sturridge is in the box he has a tap in there.

  5. Sturridge to make way when Liverpool make a change?published at 21:06 British Summer Time 17 October 2016

    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

Former Everton and Sunderland winger and MOTD2 pundit

I think Daniel Sturridge might be the player to make way when Liverpool make a change. It is the first time that Sadio Mane, Sturridge, Firmino and Philippe Coutinho have all started in the same side and it is not working.

Something needs to change up front for Jurgen Klopp's side and the way to do it might be to move Firmino from the left so he plays through the middle and push Coutinho, who has been operating in a deeper role next to Jordan Henderson, further up.

You can hear more from Kevin on MOTD2 at 22:45 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website (23:15-00:15, BBC One NI & BBC Two Wales).

Roberto Firmino on the left, glides away from a challenge and puts in a superb cross, but Ashley Young is able to clear from the edge of the six-yard box. What a ball! Daniel Strurridge could have had a tap-in.

Antonio Valencia with some early promise down the United right, he whips in a good cross but Joel Matip meets it on the bounce and sweeps it downfield.

I just hope we see a bit more attacking threat in the second half from both sides.

This has not been a game for strikers so far as the touchmaps of Daniel Sturridge (left) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic show. Let's hope it improves...

  14. 'It is almost as if the occasion is too big for Liverpool'published at 20:59 British Summer Time 17 October 2016

    Liverpool 0-0 Manchester United

    Martin Keown
Former Arsenal defender and MOTD2 pundit

Liverpool have been poor - they haven’t been confident in possession and, at the moment, it is almost as if the occasion is too big for them.

Manchester United have just stayed compact. Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini have sat in front of their defence, Marcus Rashford and Ashley Young are working hard on either side, and Paul Pogba is also dropping back - leaving Liverpool with wall of players in front of them and Jurgen Klopp's side cannot get into the little pockets that they are usually so effective in.

What do Liverpool need to do? They are definitely missing Georginio Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana. Some time soon Lallana will come on for Emre Can to play alongside Henderson in midfield. They must try to get Coutinho on the ball further forward, and maybe move Firmino back into a more central role too.

You can hear more from Martin on MOTD2 at 22:45 BST on BBC One and the BBC Sport website (23:15-00:15, BBC One NI & BBC Two Wales).

Robin Peckitt: Marcus Rashford is a striker not a winger. Been terrible for the last few games on the wing - not creative enough

Ed Frampton-Fell: Very unlike Mourinho to come to Anfield with a back 6...

Goalless at Anfield and a bit of a mess, with barely a chance created - but this is the sort of mess Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho might just approve of.

Mourinho has got his approach right, stopping Liverpool gaining any momentum. United look strong and will be much more satisfied.
