That Gladbach chance is all because of the poor throw out by Claudio Bravo. You can't take chances like that. Your defence is still running out and taking their positions.

Claudio Bravo must be a bit bored because he is desperate to get into the action, under-arming a throw straight to Gladbach in a dangerous area. Oscar Wendt breaks a tackle to drive into the area and Bravo spreads himself well to make a fine recovery save.

One of the great free transfers? Moussa Dembele lashes in a cracking effort on the turn and it forces a great save from Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

What about the technique from Ilkay Gundogan. He takes one touch, doesn't panic and doesn't try to lash it. That was going right in the bottom corner.

No one fancy scoring in the other games, no?

It's still 0-0 in all three with over half an hour gone...

What a goal that nearly was! Kevin de Bruyne floats a corner right to the edge of the penalty area, Ilkay Gundogan kills it with one touch and then fires in low with a second, fine strike too but Yann Sommer gets down well to save.

We're half an hour in and we haven't seen Kevin de Bruyne yet. And Raheem Sterling is having a stinker. Time for the big players to step forward.

If it stays like this, both sides will be level on seven points behind group winners Barcelona. Qualification will hinge on the final games, with City hosting Celtic.

Gladbach are buzzing now, they go up for handball when Tobias Strobl whistles a shot against the hand of Aleksander Kolarov. But his hand was across his chest. No chance!

    Borussia Monchengladbach 1-0 Manchester City

Manchester City have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 10 Champions League away games.

And here's how they conceded it. Talk about one step back, two steps forward.

Gladbach had a throw-in high up the left touchline, then went across to the right flank before being forced all the way back to their keeper Yann Sommer.

But Lars Stindl''s (13) thrusting run took them back into City territory, allowing Raffael (11) to rifle in the opener.
