Scott Vidler: We need Charlie Austin on, he gets us goals. And maybe even Boufal, he scored from nothing last week.

  2. 'We were playing a summer friendly'published at 21:06 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2016

    Fenerbahce 2-1 Man Utd

More from Jose Mourinho: "Our problems started in our global attitude. They were playing the Champions League final, we were playing a summer friendly. That is the reality of how the game started. It is difficult for us to play this difficultly with the left-back playing central defence. We cannot be dominant and strong without two central defenders. It is difficult to cope. We had creative players on the pitch but we are not scoring enough goals.

"We don't depend on the others, we depend on ourselves. If we win our two matches we qualify. Even with four points we can qualify."

  3. Man Utd 'not mentally prepared'published at 21:04 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2016

    Fenerbahce 2-1 Man Utd

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho told BT Sport: "They deserved to win, football is not just about quality, it is also about effort, commitments, playing the limits and giving everything. A team that concedes after two minutes is a team that is not ready, not mentally prepared, not focused, not concentrated.

"In an atmosphere like this, to give the advantage to the opposition, that is where they want to be. They then slowing the play, putting pressure on the referee, simulating and that is our fault. After the second goal, we had a reaction and could have got a different result but we did not deserve more. You have to play for 90 mins in the maximum of your desire and concentration."

    You needed eyes everywhere then.

The penalty, the row, the confrontation in the box, the stewards now taking an interest to my right - still no trouble I hasten to add - and then the miss.

It all added up to a frenzied end to the half.

And Southampton are in a spot of bother.

John Dunthorne: More dark arts, and why Tadic and not Ward-Prowse?

In the other game in Group K Sparta Prague have taken a 2-0 lead against Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

Shakhtar Donetsk were behind inside the first minute against Gent but are now 3-1 ahead, with a draw good enough to see them qualify for the knockout stage.

Schalke are 2-0 to the good, and Ajax 1-0 up, against Krasnodar and Celta Vigo respectively, results which would also see both through.

Elsewhere, Fiorentina lead 2-0 against Slovan Liberec, Sporting Braga are beating Konyaspor 2-1and Villarreal are still a goal behind against Osmanlispor - the other results remain goalless.

Dusan Tadic steps up to take the penalty... saved!

Tadic's spot kick is too close to Samir Handanovic - who loves a penalty save.

Was Tadic affected by the commotion just before he stepped up?

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:54 Greenwich Mean Time 3 November 2016

    Southampton 0-1 Inter Milan

Uh oh. It's starting to kick off. Inter Milan players are not happy with the decision. They feel it was ball to hand and surround the referee.

Just as it all seems to settle down Antonio Candreva lifts his elbow to Sam McQueen's face in the box. Red card? Referee shows the yellow...

Southampton could do with a goal before the break, but to do so they need to start being more accurate in the box. They've had 10 shots on goal, but just one of those on target.

Mauro Icardi has been bang in form for Inter this season. Of their 16 goals, he has scored nine of them, and is always a threat.

Southampton are struggling to respond after that blow. They will have their work cut out attempting to break down the Inter defence.

Mauro Icardi has not seen eye-to-eye with the Inter fans since his autobiography came out last month in which he strongly criticised them.

Icardi has since apologised but the ill-feeling from the fans side lingers.

It didn't stop the Inter fans celebrating though, including a pocket of around 20 or so sat to my left who are amongst the Southampton supporters.

Happily there was no trouble and the stewards have left them where they are.

     Sucker punch.

One attack, one goal for Inter Milan as Antonio Candreva gets away down the right and fires the ball across the face of goal. Ivan Perisic gets on the end of it, but his shot is weak and bundled clear by Cuco Martina, but only as far as Mauro Icardi, who stabs in.

Former England boss Roy Hodgson has braved the cold to take in a bit of football at St Mary's tonight. Nice big scarf on him so he should be pretty toasty.

Not much going on on the pitch, which you can probably tell from the above...
