GOAL Newcastle 0-2 Wolvespublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Helder Costa (62 mins)

Unbelievable! Wolves double their advantage at St James' Park through a superb finish from Portuguese winger Helder Costa.

The 22-year-old jinks his way to the edge of the area and curls an unstoppable shot past Matz Sels.

You have to say it's no more than Wolves deserve. Walter Zenga's men have been resilient and dangerous on the counter attack, Newcastle have been toothless so far.

  2. Newcastle 0-1 Wolvespublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

Newcastle may have put six past QPR on Tuesday, but Rafael Benitez's side are being frustrated in front of goal so far this afternoon.

It's all Newcastle, but they're struggling to create anything clear cut. 30 minutes left.

Barnsley with the numerical advantage in this second half following Garath McCleary's earlier dismissal.

The Tykes not making it tell yet despite plenty of noise from the Oakwell faithful and some bustling effort from the players.

  6. Newcastle 0-1 Wolvespublished at 16:10 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

Plenty of attacking intent from Newcastle inside the opening five minutes of the second half. But still no way through this Wolves defence.

It could be a long final 40 minutes for the visitors at St James' Park.

The referee brings the first half to a close at St James' Park with the league's in-form side behind.

Chancel Mbemba's own goal on 29 minutes is the difference.

Big team talk for Rafael Benitez at half-time - Wolves have looked impressive defensively and dangerous on the counter attack.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Bristol City 0-1 Derby County

Ikechi Anya's goal is the difference between the two sides in a first half of little note.

Just the break Nigel Pearson needed?

  14. ouch!

Newcastle 0-1 Wolvespublished at 15:48 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

Hmm, Newcastle midfielder Mo Diame could be a lucky, lucky boy. The Senegal international crunches into Matt Doherty and leaves the full-back writhing in pain.

It's just a yellow for Diame, but could have easily been a red.

  15. goal

GOAL Bristol City 0-1 Derbypublished at 15:46 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Ikechi Anya (44 mins)

Right at the end of a first half of little note, Derby County finally find a goal to end their drought.

One of their transfer window additions Ikechi Anya is the man to get it - just their second league goal of the season.

He jumps on a lapse in concentration in the City defence to poke the ball past former Derby man Frank Fielding.

  16. CLOSE!published at 15:44 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Newcastle 0-1 Wolves

It's been a bit of a siege mentality from Wolves since the goal, with Newcastle piling on the pressure, but Romain Saiss almost doubles the visitors' advantage.

The midfielder bends in a free-kick from 25 yards which is well saved by Matz Sels.

    Two minutes until half-time.

  17. Goal or no goal? League One and Two updatepublished at 15:38 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

It's all happening in League One and very much a case of is it or is it not a goal at the County Ground as Swindon thought they had levelled against Bury, only for the referee to change his mind and give a goal kick.

Meanwhile in the West Midlands, 10-man Walsall have taken the lead against table-toppers Bolton Wanderers as Jason McCarthy netted nine minutes after the Saddlers had Joe Edwards sent off for an elbow on Chris Taylor.

In League Two, Cheltenham Town have squared things up against Notts County courtesy of a Daniel Wright header on 24 minutes.

  19. RED CARD FOR READINGpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

    Barnsley 0-2 Reading

Garath McCleary sent offImage source, Rex Features

    Well, story developing at Oakwell.

Garath McCleary put his side ahead early on, but now he's off the park.

A late challenge on Danny Williams leads to a bit of handbags between the players and McCleary appears to have pushed Conor Hourihane to the floor.

The referee has no hesitation in showing him a straight red card.

  20. ouch!

Bristol City 0-0 Derbypublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 17 September 2016

Half an hour played at Ashton Gate and still goalless. But, Joe Bryan has been forced off with a nasty looking injury for Bristol City.

Scott Golbourne comes on in his place.
