It’s so sloppy from Wales. This time it’s Chester, Arnautovic can just nick it and run 40 yards to goal, it’s a brilliant solo goal.

A really, really sloppy start to the second half by Wales. Chris Coleman will not be happy.

  2. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:55 British Summer Time 6 October 2016

    Austria 2-2 Wales

Marko Arnautovic has just scored his second goal of the game and he's in the referee's book again - booked this time though. It's an elbow into the face of Chris Gunter. Yellow, not red.

GOAL - Austria 2-2 Walespublished at 20:52 British Summer Time 6 October 2016

    Marko Arnautovic (48 mins)

Well, that had been coming! Wales give the ball away too easily again, the third time already since half time, and Marko Arnautovic punishes them clinically.

Joe Allen plays a hospital pass to James Chester, he panics and ends up toeing it to Arnautovic. The Stoke man has plenty to do but he does it brilliantly, sprinting on into the penalty area and burying high past Wayne Hennessey, with the aid of a slight deflection.

Zlatko Junozovic is fouled by Ben Davies in a dangerous area, David Alaba will fancy this....

But it's Junozovic who shoots, Wayne Hennessey moves his feet well and saves easily.

I’ve been disappointed in Marc Janko, he hasn’t made the ball stick and he doesn’t look the most mobile – although I know that’s a bit rich coming from someone like myself!

No shots on target for the Republic, and just 43% possession in that first half. Got to do better.

Austria manager Marcel Koller might have been on to something when he said Wales were "lucky" before this game.

Their second goal came against the run of play and in comical circumstances as Austria goalkeeper Robert Almer saved James Chester's header, only for the ball to bounce in off Kevin Wimmer.

    Lucky indeed, Herr Koller.

It's worth staying up for so far, Dan!

From the moment Austria equalised, until the moment Wales scored their second, it was an all-out onslaught from the hosts.

That'll knock the wind out of Austria, because they were looking very dangerous towards the end of the half.

But Wales have got that little bit of luck that you always need. I think they've defended really well for long periods, it was just a mistake from Chris Gunter for the goal, and he doesn't make many mistakes.

They've kicked on and they've shown great spirit. They're in with a great chance now.

What a time to score! We were just saying two minutes ago how Wales would like to make it to half time because Austria were turning the screw a little bit. Now Wales have taken the lead!

GOAL - Austria 1-2 Walespublished at 20:32 British Summer Time 6 October 2016

    Kevin Wimmer (OG 45 mins)

Wales lead! What a crazy goal as your £86m man from Real Madrid winds up to launch a huge throw into the middle - you don't see this at the Bernabeu too often from Gareth Bale - but it's effective!

James Chester heads it on goal, it's parried out by the feet of Robert Almer and it hits Kevin Wimmer on his calf and flies in.

    Very unlucky.

Or lucky for Wales. Maybe the Austria manager had a point...?

Doug Parr: First time Stoke have scored twice in a game this season.

Andy White: Mark Hughes must be baffled by what's going on. Maybe Stoke need to start playing on a Thursday evening?

It's all Georgia in Dublin, Valeri Kazaishvili of Legia Warsaw gets away from Seamus Coleman and forces Darren Randolph into a save, before Randolph then saved well from Levan Mchedlidze.

Martin O'Neill will be desperate to hear that half-time whistle.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:25 British Summer Time 6 October 2016

    Austria 1-1 Wales

And another one! Wales are hanging on and Wayne Hennessey has to make another superb save as Florian Klein blasts up the right wing, puts a low cross in which nicks up off the heels of Ben Davies, and Hennessey has to push it out one-handed with Marcel Sabitzer right in his face.
