  3. Lithuania harbour 'hope' at Hampdenpublished at 18:57

    Scotland v Lithuania (19:45 BST)

    Alasdair Lamont

Lithuania manager Edgaras Jankauskas believes Scotland will accept nothing other than a victory against his team at Hampden.

The former Hearts striker acknowledges that "all the facts are against us", wth Lithuania having lost on all four previous visits to Scotland and not having won any of their last 11 away matches.

But Jankauskas has guided his teams to successive draws against Poland and Slovenia and says the first half of Scotland's game against Malta "gives us hope".

"We accept we are not favourites but all good runs and bad runs come to an end," he said.

England could only score two goals against Malta at Wembley. Scotland even softened up the Maltesers last month just to make things a bit easier for Gareth Southgate & Co. They need a new manager that mob...

There's a club feel to Scotland at the moment and sticking with a winning team selection is understandable. Martin answered the doubters with a goal and a joke penalty last time so maybe he can do the same again. It's a cold play from the manager. Okay that's the last one....

I think I might walk 500 miles to steer clear of the new Scotland goal anthem "Bits And Pieces". I would prefer to have stuck with the Proclaimers. But I'm willing to suffer some earache for all the right reasons.

My prediction is Scotland 2-1 Lithuania. I think we'll win but I don't reckon there'll be a barrowload of goals.

These are three points we have to nail down to maintain momentum and keep ourselves in with a realistic chance of qualification.

Here is my Scotland starting XI against Lithuania. What about you?

    Scotland teamImage source, BBC Sport

There's a strong case to say 'same again' after the performance and result in Malta. But I find it difficult to leave out Kieran Tierney, the way he's been playing at the top level.

Although I won't be screaming in protest if Andy Robertson keeps his place. The other change I would make is the introduction of Leigh Griffiths.

He hasn't started the last seven games for Celtic but I think he'll be champing at the bit for some action and would include him for that reason.

Chris Martin scored in the last match but I didn't think, overall, he didn't carry a great deal of threat.
