There are no home nations in action on Sunday, it's FA Cup replays on Monday night and then some friendlies on Tuesday evening.

Northern Ireland take on Croatia while England host Spain in the fourth and final game of Gareth Southgate's interim period. 

Wales manager Chris Coleman: "Fine lines. We hit the post at one end, the ball bounces out between two of our players, they hit the post and it goes in. We looked after their strengths very well, they are a good team.

"But apart from one save for Wayne Hennessey in the first half I can't remember much action. It was always going to be tough. i was delighted with the players, I thought we did enough to win the points.

"We have to play Ireland twice. they are the team who are setting the standard at the top. It is interesting, it is fantastic. If we had beaten Georgia then a point tonight is OK, we would be on track. 

"The players are absolutely devastated."

Italy earned a 4-0 World Cup qualifying win Liechtenstein but Spain stay top of Group G on goal difference after beating Macedonia 4-0.

Darko Velkoski's own goal and strikes from Machin Vitolo, Nacho Monreal and Aritz Aduriz secured Spain's win. 

All of Italy's goals came before the break, with Andrea Belotti scoring twice and Ciro Immobile and Antonio Candreva also netting. 

Elsewhere in Group G, Israel beat Albania 3-0 to move to third. 

Serbia captain and Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic: "It's a very important goal for us, we gave a lot of energy and we can be more than happy with a point. Wales are very difficult to play, very strong on the counter attack and they scored an early goal. We have to look forward and think about the next game.

"When you miss the chance to kill the game with a second goal it happens so often that you concede. We have to be focused and go step by step."

Wales midfielder Joe Ledley: "You want to take the three points, we fought well today but credit to Serbia. We are still undefeated, let's keep positive.

"Gareth Bale had just hit the post, if that goes in it's over. We are proud of our performance, it's Ireland away next and that's a must-win."

Wales forward Gareth Bale: "We are so disappointed at the moment, we played great in the first half but then we faded. We dug in. It's one of those things, you go so close at one end and then they go up and score.

"We believe we can still do it, we just need to keep working hard. At home we were confident, we were 1-0 up in the 85th minute, it's two points lost."

Wales could have had lady luck on their side, it could have been different. Serbia stayed in it and it was wonderful header from Aleksandar Mitrovic to level.

Wales put everything in but they are only on six points. We are still in there fighting but it is disappointing not to see games out. 

We led against Georgia, took the lead twice against Austria and led for 55 minutes against Serbia.

It has all been Wales' wrongdoings. The expectation level has risen but the players have not done too much wrong. They have been committed and seen some really good performances.

Defensively, with a few minutes to go, Neil Taylor fails to stop the cross coming in. If he gets a yard closer and puts in that little bit more, it could be a clean sheet. Little things like that can make such a huge difference.

No Group D fixtures until March, and then this:

That's six dropped points in three games and you can't afford to do that. You have to see games out at this level. It can't be put down to a lack of experience, we have plenty in the team.

Richard: In the midst of that, that was an abysmal refereeing performance. 

There are still six games to go but those two dropped points could yet prove costly for Wales. 

Chris Coleman leaned back and looked to the sky at full-time. That's three straight draws and they've led in all of them.

Only the group winners are guaranteed a spot in Russia. The meeting between the Republic and Wales in Dublin in March looks very tasty now.

Serbia are pouring forwards now in search of the win. Wales have not threatened much at all since half time but, BUT, they hit the post just seconds before that equaliser.
