    FA Cup preview

    While Eastleigh and Swindon must scrap it out again, 2004 finalists Millwall are already safely through to round two after beating Southend.

    Another 38 ties will be played over the weekend with eight non-league clubs guaranteed a spot in round two.

  2. Goal or no goal?

    FA Cup

    Two FA Cup ties took place last night and the big controversy was in the game between non-league Eastleigh and League One side Swindon.

    Mikael Mandron deftly nodded in Jake Howells' free-kick to put Eastleigh in front but Michael Doughty denied the Hampshire club an upset when he equalised with a late penalty.

    The National League side almost snatched a dramatic winner in injury-time when Ayo Obileye's effort was cleared off the line by Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill.

    The big debate was whether the ball crossed the line or not as there is no goal-line technology in the FA Cup. 

    Match of the Day pundit Phil Neville reckoned there was daylight between the ball and the goal. His colleagues Trevor Sinclair and Martin Keown disagreed.
