Shot on target! David Luiz free-kick, it must be 30 yards if it's a day but he catches this one well, plenty of movement on the ball too and Ben Foster has to watch it all the way into his gloves.

When you are down there running at full pace it is a lot harder to pick out a pass between the bodies.

West Brom are tough to break down, I still don't think crosses into the box are the best way as even when one of the defenders gets dragged out you have Claudio Yacob drop in and fill the gap.

Last season Chelsea were vulnerable and people thought they had a chance, this year teams are coming here and shutting up shop.

    Chelsea 0-0 West Brom

West Brom are keeping it compact and defending quite high up the pitch, as we can see from their average positions. Chelsea struggling to find a way through.

A reminder that we had 20 goals yesterday. Super Sunday so far has been a poor relation - but that's close! Great ball in and Diego Costa is close to meeting it on the full but it drifts wide.

I've never been kicked by either but I imagine taking a whack from Gareth McAuley is akin to a blow from a small horse. Eden Hazard's shinpads will have earned their money in this first half.

When Eden Hazard is bang in form he is one of the best around. Especially in games like today when you need someone with something different who can unlock a defence by going by players and committing players.

Chelsea don't have a lot of those, Pedro, but the form Hazard is in...it'll be at half time he'll start feeling that knock.

It's definitely slowed him down. It's a physical sport and tackles are going to fly in, but it wasn't intentional.

    Derby 1-0 Nottingham Forest

An own goal has opened the scoring in the big derby at Derby as a corner skims in off the head of Nicklas Bendtner.

Only one shot on target so far and it came from Salomon Rondon. TP is a happy man.

Eden Hazard is back with us, albeit moving gingerly. Pedro is then caught and punches the ground in frustration. The Chelsea forwards appear to be becoming narked at their lack of space and time. West Brom defending very well thus far.

A second booking of the day as Gareth McAuley is sucked in by Eden Hazard, the 37-year-old levers can't adjust quickly enough and he ends up slicing through the forward.

He then treads on the Belgian accidentally for good measure. Hazard needs some treatment but I think he'll be OK.

Dave: We've seen how Leicester have played without Kante but the question is how good would Chelsea be without him.

Steve Howes: Luiz looking like the old Luiz ATM

John Dunthorne: I bet more than 3 goals for this match. Silly me, Tony Pulis will not allow this, with his set up at both ends.

  12. CLOSE!published at 28 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 West Brom

West Brom give N'Golo Kante room to shoot, he doesn't get many after all, and he scuffs his shot from 25 yards. It's going nowhere until it hits Pedro on the shins, and then looks like going in until it runs into the side-netting.

Ben Foster was beaten there. A big let-off for the Baggies.

Victor Moses has always been a strong player, though he has always been used as an attacking player before this season.

What's helped in his transition is Azpilicueta behind him talking to him and guiding him through his game.

Chelsea are overwhelmingly dominating possession but haven't done much with it. West Brom won't be worried - going into the game they have averaged a league-low 40% possession so far this season.

  15. CLOSE!published at 26 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 West Brom

My fault for praising David Luiz earlier as he makes a clanger. He is the last man with loads of time, takes too long though and Salomon Rondon picks his pocket. The West Brom number nine powers on, goes into the area on his left foot and shoots from an acute angle - it beats Thibaut Courtois but goes wide.

A really tough chance, but a chance. Luiz holds his hands up. Literally.

I am hoping there will be goals, but I have to say the way West Brom have started this game they look pretty comfortable.

Chelsea have played well, it's just the amount of opportunities they have created. The longer it goes on, especially into the second half, you would be looking at the likes of Cesc Fabregas coming as Matic and Kante aren't going to offer you as much going forward.

    Chelsea 0-0 West Brom

The heat has come out of the game a touch, Chelsea having lots of the play but it's too slow to hurt a well-organised West Brom. They aren't able to get any space at all at the moment.

    Chelsea 0-0 West Brom

Victor Moses for most improved player this season? He tracks back to beat Allan Nyom to the ball, beats him with a neat turn and then wins a free-kick. Much applause around Stamford Bridge.

  19. CLOSE!published at 18 mins

    Chelsea 0-0 West Brom

Ooooh, a sweet strike! Again it's the men in black who threaten as Chris Brunt lashes is a rising strike from 25 yards, all left foot, it's a fine strike but just wide.

Brunt then trips Diego Costa and gets a cheap booking.
