The intricacies in the way Chelsea play, they need to get it to Eden Hazard and get him to run at people because West Brom when they are set defensively are hard to break down.

I think Tony Pulis will be happy with how his side have started. They look strong and are well organised.

There will be gaps where Chelsea push up so high, in behind Moses and Alonso, so I think that could a weakness for sides to get at.

Chelsea come down their left this time though, and they do find a way through the massed ranks for once as Eden Hazard and Diego Costa play a one-two but the final ball is overcooked and claimed by Ben Foster.

Chelsea have had 70% of the ball but West Brom have had the best opening. Possession is not all it's cracked up to be - ask Leicester.

    Ask Pep.

    Chelsea 0-0 West Brom

Chelsea have scored in each of their last 21 home league games against West Brom, last failing to find the net against them in December 1967.

They haven't forced Ben Foster into a save yet though.

Chelsea have been peppering those wide areas all season, but West Brom are so strong that today there will not be many spaces for Diego Costa to work in.

A lot of teams that play with three at the back tend to overplay, but watching Conte's teams they are very quick to work out that if a team does a high press they can go long - they have someone like Costa who is comfortable up there winning the ball on his own.

    Chelsea 0-0 West Brom

West Brom have nine men in their own penalty area as Eden Hazard has the ball on the left. Tricky. The Belgian manages to extricate himself from the situation and find Diego Costa, he pulls out wide and tries to find Marcos Alonso - brilliantly intercepted by Claudio Yacob.

    Chelsea 0-0 West Brom

Tony Pulis has only lost one of his last four Premier League games against Chelsea (W2 D1), this after losing nine of his first 11 Premier League games against the Blues (D2).

He'll be pleased with this opening 10 as well.

We may never know fully what happened to some of these Chelsea players last season, but they are back to their title-winning best now. Nemanja Matic, who looked like a League Two clogger last season, makes a tackle and then sprays a majestic 50-yard pass dead weight into the run of Victor Moses. C'est magnifique.

West Brom are not here to park the bus. They have the bus into third gear and overtaking in the outside lane, James Morrison frees Craig Dawson on the right, he crosses on the run and Chris Brunt heads over. Too high for Brunt in the end but a very promising attack.

I think it is exactly what we expected from a team bang in form, popping it around at will.

One thing that is standing out for me already is the job Chris Brunt and Matty Phillps will have to do today.

With Victor Moses and Marcus Alonso pressing so high, it will almost be a back six at times for West Brom today.

Those who laughed at the return of David Luiz haven't had much to snigger about of late, and the large-haired one does well to beat Salomon Rondon to a hoof down the middle. Chelsea pushing high and wide in the early stages - but it's Rondon with the first effort of the game, a good header straight at Thibaut Courtois.

Diego Costa, on 11 goals for the Premier League season to date, has his name chanted down from the terraces as he holds the ball up well on the right. He then finds Victor Moses, whose cross is blocked.

Former Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison: "Chelsea have a lot of games coming up which look winnable, they should win them all and be on 13 wins on the row, but there is always a banana skin in there somewhere. Victor Moses has been a revelation at wing-back, they look so solid and then they have the best striker in the league up front with Diego Costa."

There's an East Midlands derby going on in the Championship today, as Derby County welcome Nottingham Forest.

The hosts are on a five-game winning run, while Forest's victory over league leaders Newcastle last week made it three on the bounce for Philippe Montanier's side.

It's been a while since West Brom won at Stamford Bridge in the league. September 30, 1978, in fact, when the Baggies won 3-1 in a season that ended in relegation for the Blues.
