    Bournemouth 1-0 Leicester

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is asked about his side climbing up to eighth, the highest position they have ever been in.

"We're building nicely, this team is growing and getting better but we're in a really good position to kick on now. The club's come so far so quickly, I'm always looking to the next goal but it's good for other people to enjoy."

Abe Dein: The moment people start considering us serious contestants for the BPL, we do what we always do and prove them wrong! Typical!

Pascal van der Kamp: Here go all the Arsenal doubters. Incredible game, of which Arsenal were very much a part of. They'll bounce back

  4. 'The team is alive'published at 22:17 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Bournemouth 1-0 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri: "The result is too severe against us because we created more chances than Bournemouth. I wanted a little more. A little more and we can score goals, recover more second balls.

"The second half was much better. They scored when we deserved to score a goal. The team is alive and that is important for me.If we continue to fight at this level, sooner or later we will get a good result."

  5. 'A heroic display'published at 22:14 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Bournemouth 1-0 Leicester

    Bournemouth

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe: "It didn't feel anything like routine. It was dramatic playing the champions, we know their qualities and the lads did particularly well.

"It was a heroic defensive display. I thought we were magnificent in that respect. Marc Pugh is the model professional, he's been out of the squad and team. He has travelled around the country playing in development games and waited for his opportunity before taking it. It's important to bounce back in this league because there will be moments when you don't get what you want."

    Everton 2-1 Arsenal

Phew. I'm surprised Koeman and Wenger had enough breath for all that after the finish at Goodison Park.

Arsenal's first away defeat in nine months felt like a classic FA Cup quarter-final that went to extra time.

  7. 'We showed two faces'published at 22:06 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Everton 2-1 Arsenal

    Everton

Everton manager Ronald Koeman on BT Sport: "We showed two faces. The first face I hate that face because it is all about being nervous. You cannot lose the game like that. This was a good match though because we showed how we have to play - with commitment and aggression. You see the reaction of the crowd when you go for it and that's what we did.

"On Monday, the game against Liverpool is of course a totally different situation now we go with three points in the pocket. We know we are strong at home and still unbeaten. If we play with the passion we showed tonight we will do well. We will learn from this match, it was a great result."

  9. 'We battled hard'published at 22:04 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Everton 2-1 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, speaking to BBC Sport: "I don't think with five to go we deserved to lose the game but we were caught on two headers. I think especially on the first one we were guilty, the second one was from a corner. We controlled Romelu Lukaku well but two defenders scored. Maybe we made it easy for them when they became more physical. They played a real cup game tonight.

"They defended well even when we controlled the game. We created chances but not too many were clear-cut. We battled hard. We put everything in and the players are very disappointed."

  11. 'We fought face to face'published at 21:56 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Everton 2-1 Arsenal

    Everton

Everton manager Ronald Koeman, speaking to BBC Sport: "The first 20 minutes, that was really poor. We were very nervous and unsure. Every ball back. Mistakes and no aggression. After that we played face to face and showed unbelievable spirit to come back and we deserved the win. We were lucky in the last situation but we played great football and the support of the fans, it makes Goodison Park really difficult to beat us here.

"Sometimes it is difficult to understand why we start so poorly at the beginning. Of course there is some lack of confidence but show your personality. We showed big personality."

  12. 'We did fight'published at 21:52 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Everton 2-1 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Arsene Wenger, speaking to BT Sport: "It was a very physical game, we faced many physical challenges and that disturbed our game but we were a bit unlucky to lose as well.

"We had chances in the first half, especially from Mesut. They defended well, they played a cup game, and at the end of the day it was two defenders in their team who scored.

"They were a bit scared at first but they got their confidence. We did fight, I cannot fault that."

  13. 'We put things right'published at 21:47 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Everton 2-1 Arsenal

Everton defender Ashley Williams, on BT Sport: "This was about trying to put things right. You heard the fans and how they responded. I was disappointed with the goal we conceded, I should have done better, so I was desperate to get one at the other end."

Seamus Coleman: "We needed to put things right. We know we haven't been anywhere near good enough. It was important we put in a performance and worked hard for each other, and we did that tonight."

Abdul Said: So Chelsea could go 6 points clear and run away with it, one horse race.

Ray O'Brien: Got to say, as a gooner, that was a great, old fashioned Premier League slug fest. Bit off the pace, but fair play Everton.

no-one: Drawing Bayern in the CL? Check. Losing to a Roland Koeman team? Check. Welcome back, ye Arsenal of old.

  15. Monster performance from Cookpublished at 21:43 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

Steve Cook may not know that he was referenced on a Cookie Monster video on the BBC Sport website this week, but the Bournemouth defender is one of the first players who manager Eddie Howe goes to hug at the final whistle as a clean sheet - and three huge points - are confirmed.

This time last year, Bournemouth beat the Premier League champions 1-0, a few days before a new Star Wars film was released at the cinema.

They've just done it again. Clearly the Force is with them.

What a finish to that game. Quite incredible.

In the space of three seconds, after Phil Jagielka had been sent off, the free-kick went in, there was pinball in the box, two shots cleared off the line, Alexis Sanchez went down looking for a penalty, and Everton went up the pitch to nearly score with Petr Cech converted to a striker.

Arsene Wenger shakes the hands of every player coming off that pitch, their hearts still racing.

    Bournemouth 1-0 Leicester

    Mark Mitchener

As Callum Wilson's late injury sees Bournemouth switch to a flat back five to repel the waves of Leicester pressure, there's a feelgood substitution as Tyrone Mings takes the field for only his second Premier League appearance.

His first came on 29 August 2015 - also as a substitute here against Leicester - and lasted only a handful of minutes before a serious knee injury ruled him out of the rest of the 2015-16 season.

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time 13 December 2016

    Everton 2-1 Arsenal

Madness. Insanity. Arsenal have an empty net after Petr Cech is in the Everton box to witness two shots cleared off the line by some frantic, desperate defending.

The home side pour forward looking for a third but somehow are steered away from the Gunners' empty sticks...

Phil Jagielka knows he has to bring Lucas Perez down - even if that's a second yellow for a red card. Will it matter?
