Arsenal are defending well. They are back in numbers, looking organised and Koscielny is marshalling the defence.

City are dominating possession but not doing a lot with it.

    Manchester City 0-1 Arsenal

Petr Cech does have to do some work, saving after a clearance hits the back of Hector Bellerin's head and loops goalward.

Arsenal then attack and find Theo Walcott in space just inside the area, he turns and hits it over his shoulder but way over.

    Manchester City 0-1 Arsenal

Manchester City have had 67% of possession but have not had a shot on target in the opening half an hour. That's the philosophy.

Chances at both ends but real anxiety among Manchester City's fans every time Arsenal attack.

Alexis Sanchez has had a magnificent opening 20 minutes, dangerous on the ball and ordering his Arsenal team-mates around when he is not.

He looks the complete attacking player.

    Dele Alli (27 mins)

Spurs are back level soon enough and it's such a simple goal. The Clarets stand off Kyle Walker on the right, he pings in a low cross and Dele Alli times his penalty box arrival to perfection, David Platt-esque, to steer home left-footed.

Ashley Barnes, entombed on the bench of my fantasy football team, has put his real-life side into a great position. But there is plenty of time left just yet.

DaveLocal: I hope he comes good, but with what I've seen so far no sane manager would ever pay what Pep paid to get Sane to City

LifaNati: Are we seeing a new side of Wenger? City with all the possession and Arsenal hitting them on the break. Unbelievable!

Steve Howes: Why no Stones. He is not a bad player but a player that needs instructions. Basically you are not Eden Hazard just kick it out

City are dominating possession in the middle third of the pitch but aren’t really going anywhere with it. They’re not creating anything.

    Ashley Barnes (21 mins)

Burnley score away from home! For the first time in open play all season.

Tottenham shoot themselves in the foot, reload, take aim and repeat the trick. They have at least four chances to clear a bobbling ball in their area, fail on each occasion and when George Boyd fires in a ball from the left, it comes off Mousa Dembele and Ashley Barnes is alive to react and stab home.

City now seeing plenty of the ball but the build up is slow and deliberate, and Arsenal are well organised. Raheem Sterling through the middle doesn't look to be working to me.

    Tottenham 0-0 Burnley

Harry Winks - on a rare Spurs start - flashes a left-footed hit from 20 yards straight at Tom Heaton in the Burnley goal.

Spurs have had nine shots in the first 16 minutes.

Arsenal are playing some picturesque stuff. Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott are all interchanging positions and leading the City backline a merry dance. Ozil sends Sanchez into the area, wide right, but his clipped cross is over the head of Walcott.

De Bruyne is looking the most lively player for City. If he is going to whip balls into box someone has to make a run across the defender.

With no Aguero in the side Sterling has to make that gamble.

    Tottenham 0-0 Burnley

It's an eventful start at the Lane as Spurs now hit the post - Victor Wanyama heads on a corner, it falls for Dele Alli and on the stretch he can only push it against the base of the post. Tough angle that.

    Tottenham 0-0 Burnley

Great save, or poor finish? A bit of both as Burnley are denied. Stephen Ward wins the ball back high up the field for the Clarets and puts over a low cross which Andre Gray can only steer into the shins of Hugo Lloris. Got to put that in the corners..
