Liverpool have been the better side in the second half - they've been the more positive

Roberto Firmino throws himself at some sort of overhead kick but he can only launch the ball well into the crowd.

Perhaps the last 15 minutes are going to thrill us all the way to Christmas after all. Liverpool uncork a flowing move from somewhere as Adam Lallana finds Sadio Mane inside the area, his low cross is towards Divock Origi but he can't send a shot on goal. 

SHOT ON TARGET! It's an easy, easy save for Simon Mignolet but it's the first one he's had to make as he catches Ashley Williams' looping header. 

The last four derbies at Goodison have been draws, and a fifth looks likely now I must say. 

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is on for Everton in place of Enner Valencia. DCL was on loan with League Two champions Northampton at this stage last year. Quite the leap into the big time.

That should be a red. That's a straight red all day long. Jordan Henderson is lucky he hasn't broken his leg. Ross Barkley is lucky he's got away with a yellow.

Jurgen Klopp's reaction to that challenge was to instantly hold his head in his hands  - he must have feared an injury but Jordan Henderson is back on and playing on.

Sadio Mane is now down in a heap after he ran into Gareth Barry. 

Seamus Coleman goes into the book for his part in that little scuffle. 

OOOFF! And you can see why there was such a reaction as Ross Barkley's challenge was horrendous on Jordan Henderson. He dived in, above the ankle, it could have seriously injured the Liverpool captain.

Ross Barkley is a lucky man to stay on.

Ross Barkley is booked and there's a real angry reaction as players from both sides square up, Dejan Lovren and Romelu Lukaku locking horns.

Both halves have followed the same pattern so far - a very lively first 10-15 minutes and then a descent into a scrappy, poor game. 

In 65 minutes we've had one shot on target.

Everton put so much into the first half, it’s not a surprise their intensity has dropped. Liverpool have upped the tempo, though.

The Reds are finding some space between Everton’s two central midfielders now and if they can keep getting the ball into Roberto Firmino or Sadio Mane, then they are going to get more joy.

Maarten Stekelenburg looks like he's really struggling. If I were Liverpool now I'd get the ball wide and get into the box.

Liverpool have come out with much greater urgency in this second half and it has taken one or two moments of desperate defending to keep them out.

Everton need to get more support in and around Romelu Lukaku.

Roberto Firmino has been the man of the half and his backheel sends Sadio Mane in on goal. Leighton Baines comes across to make a cracking challenge and put it out for a corner, and collects Maarten Stekelenburg in the process. A hefty collision and the keeper needs some treatment.

Mike Dean tells Romelu Lukaku to calm down as he books Dejan Lovren for a body check on the halfway line. I'm not sure you can really shout at someone and tell them to relax can you?

Green shoots of life at Goodison. Roberto Firmino almost weaves into the penalty area to cause some mischief before Gareth Barry floats a pinpoint pass onto the head of Romelu Lukaku and he can only help onto the roof of the net.
