Everton are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.
Contact has been made between the two clubs, although there is no agreement over a deal yet.
The France player, who signed for United for £25m in July 2015, would be reunited with former Southampton manager Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park.
Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho will sanction any deal for the 27-year-old, who is not part of his long-term plans.

Liverpool, who have lost just once in their past 14 Premier League matches, will go second with a victory in the 227th derby between the two neighbouring clubs.
And Reds striker Divock Origi says the visitors are preparing for "a war", external at Goodison Park.
"You want to win this game, you know it will not be easy, it is a derby so it will be special," said the Belgium international, who has scored in his past five matches.
"We have to prepare for it well."
Neighbourly disputes
Anfield and Goodison Park are separated by just under a mile across Stanley Park.
It always matters more to get one over on your neighbours.
So let's hear your tales of neighbourly disputes and competition. Mentioning no names, of course. As trivial or as important as you like.

Everton are aiming for a second successive win to move up to seventh in the table.
However, the Toffees have only won one of the past 19 meetings against their neighbours.
"The derby is all about the fans, we understand that but we need to be calm and prepare for the game in the way we like," said Everton manager Ronald Koeman.
"It's about preparing the team. You have an emotional part that you need to control. That's the most important.
"Our recent record is not good. One derby win out of 19. We need to accept how difficult it is, win the game and make the fans happy."

"Ask what all the other teams are doing, or what all other countries are doing at Christmas time? Ask them and you will see they have their legs on the sofa and are watching English football. That's what the big difference is."
Jurgen Klopp's love - or otherwise - for the Premier League's festive schedule is about to be seriously tested.
Tonight he takes Liverpool into the cauldron of Goodison Park for the very first time. If that wasn't enough to have him in a spin, it's the first of seven games in 26 days.
Liverpool have only lost one of the last 19 Merseyside derbies. A phenomenal record.
They will go second with a win.
Everton away? On a Monday night? In Christmas week?
If we can't get an amazing atmosphere tonight, we may as well all give up...
