It's interesting that Iwobi is playing through the middle with Sanchez out wide. It's very different to what we expected.

Good start by Arsenal as Alexis Sanchez bursts forward and wins the Gunners a corner. Palace clear it, though.

It's certainly shaping up that way Tei, can Arsenal kick Man City out of the top four?

  7. Injury problems pile up for Watfordpublished at 15:55 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Watford 1-4 Tottenham

It's fair to say that Watford fans won't be too confident of their chances against Stoke on Tuesday after listening to manager Walter Mazzari's appraisal of the team's circumstances.

"[Zuniga] was the tenth player to get injured, five or six are starting 11, we had four under-23s in the 18 players that we brought today," he said.

"Unfortunately this is the situation. Also we go there to play Stoke, who played very well against Chelsea, they will be very hard to play against. They have 50% more rest than us.

"We just have to give everything we’ve got."

    Good luck with that!

This is a landmark game for Arsenal. It's their 200th Premier League outing at the Emirates and, if they win, it will be their 130th at the stadium.

They've only lost on 23 occasions at the ground. A tough place for rivals to visit.

  9. 'The best we've played this season'published at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Watford 1-4 Tottenham

Not a bad day for Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino then - three points, four goals and the chance to rest some of his key players, even if it did prevent them from scoring hat-tricks.

"In three days we have a very important game, so if we can rest people and have the opportunity to play different players it is very important to be fresh and competitive," he said.

"We played very good, to a very high standard. The first half was one of the best we’ve played this season. I’m very happy because it was a difficult game, and the team responded.

"We know that Chelsea’s performance is very high, they are a very good team with high confidence but we will try to challenge them to take the three points."

  10. Guedioura apologises to fanspublished at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Watford 1-4 Tottenham

Watford midfielder Adlene Guedioura has pulled no punches in summarising his team's performance today.

"It is embarrassing to lose like that," he told Sky Sports.

"I want to apologise to all the fans who were there today because it was not acceptable. It’s difficult when you have a small squad but we have players who have to step up."

  12. A first win at Arsenal for Allardyce?published at 15:36 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

Arsenal v Crystal Palace (16:00 GMT)

This is Sam Allardyce's second game as Crystal Palace boss after the 1-1 draw with Watford on Boxing Day.

Surprisingly, Allardyce has never managed to win at Arsenal in the Premier League, and it sounds like he is taking a safety first approach for this game.

"We will need to perform at our very best to get anything out of a game today against a side like Arsenal," he said. "The focus this week has been working on the team defending better and also it's important how we use the ball when in possession."

  13. 'Watford have lacked personality'published at 15:32 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Watford 1-4 Tottenham

    Bradley Allen
Ex-QPR striker for BBC Radio London

Watford really need to find a settled side. They don't want to go on a run where they get dragged into a relegation scrap. They haven't showed a great deal of personality today.

  14. Alli 'kicking himself' for second match in a rowpublished at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Watford 1-4 Tottenham

Two bagged two for Tottenham today, but there were no hat-tricks, with England duo Dele Alli and Harry Kane brought off before they could claim the match-ball.

"Obviously I wanted to get my hat-trick, I was kicking myself when I didn’t get it the other day, but the most important thing is the result," said Alli.

Both players said they are excited for the upcoming match against table-toppers Chelsea, on Wednesday.

"The Chelsea match is massive, so we’ll recover and go hard at it," said Kane. "We just need to go out there and beat them and stop their winning run."

    Arsenal v Crystal Palace (16:00)

Arsenal are without the ill Mesut Ozil, so Lucas Perez is handed a rare league start on the left. Nacho Monreal comes back in for Kieran Gibbs, while Mohamed Elneny replaces Francis Coquelin.

Crystal Palace have had more rest than any other Premier League side over the festive season so far. They played first on Boxing Day and are out last in this round of fixtures.

Sam Allardyce's selection reflects as much. The only change sees James Tomkins replaced suspended centre-back Damien Delaney.

That win means Tottenham move up to third, although it could be a brief stay if Arsenal beat Crystal Palace at 16:00 GMT.

Watford, meanwhile, will be starting to look over their shoulder. They are 14th and have won just one of their last seven games.

A frustrating end for Tottenham keeper Hugo Lloris. If he was due a clean sheet bonus, that's gone now as Younes Kaboul pokes over the line following a scramble from a free-kick. Despite the goal, Kaboul, understandably, is not in celebratory mood.

  20. 'Spurs will be looking forward to Chelsea match'published at 15:17 Greenwich Mean Time 1 January 2017

    Watford 0-4 Tottenham

    Bradley Allen

If you'd have asked Tottenham what they wanted from today before the match they'd have said three points and a comprehensive performance, and that's what they've got.

I think everybody associated with the club will be really looking forward to that Chelsea game on Wednesday.
