Dele Alli has hit Chelsea with a real counter punch there because Chelsea had come flying out at the start of the second half.

Still no sense inside White Hart Lane that this is done and dusted but it will take some feat from Chelsea to rescue something from this game now.

Spurs are compact and concise but it is they who threaten a third as Christian Eriksen hits a shot, deflected, and Harry Kane is close to reaching the loose ball. Chelsea then win a corner.

It is identical to the goal we saw at the end of the first half. Dele Alli puts himself on to the back of Cesar Azpilicueta and the ball in from Christian Eriksen is sublime - it gets Thibaut Courtois guessing 'should I come for it or should I stay on my line?'

Dele Alli is in that beautiful position to nod it in against the run of play. It's definitely not game over, it's game on.

Chelsea have shown enough at the start of this second half to show they are going to be dangerous. It's a matter of how strong this brilliant Tottenham defence can stand.

An extended chorus of 'We've got Alli, Dele Alli' now sings out from the stands. As punts from League One go he's probably the best in recent memory. Chelsea need three to win this now - is it likely?

Same again! Christian Eriksen cross, Dele Alli header! He even gets between the same two defenders, Cesar Azpilicueta and Victor Moses and steers the ball back across the keeper and in.

He wouldn't be the first man you'd think of when it comes to scoring two headers, but Alli has finished them superbly.

Is Chelsea's run coming to an end?

Christopher Adesho: Chelsea will come back and the will end 2:1 to my team, up blues, up Chelsea.

Antony: Alli has a certain "English Kaka" flair to his game...

Kris Jefferson: Scoring at the end of the half may have been the worst time to, for Spurs! Chelsea to go all out in this half 2-1 Chelsea.

    Tottenham 1-0 Chelsea

It's 70% possession for Chelsea since half-time as Spurs try and contain and hit them on the break. It's a dangerous game, and the home fans will be pleased to see Nemanja Matic shoot from 25 yards and spank it high into the crowd.

I don't know what Antonio Conte said at the break but it did the trick, that was a terrific opening burst from the league leaders. They still trail though.

And now Chelsea want a penalty in this breathless start - Victor Moses goes down as Mousa Dembele levers him off the ball. No dice.

You would normally think it would be an individual moment of brilliance in this game, but with how well both teams were defending I didn't think it would even come to that - that's why I was calling for a mistake.

It was a fantastic piece of play from Christian Eriksen and great finish from Dele Alli to put Spurs 1-0 up.

I think Antonio Conte will want Victor Moses and Marcus Alonso to push higher up the pitch, be more adventurous. I'd go for Cesc Fabregas.

Eden Hazard misses a chanceImage source, Reuters

Chance! Chelsea have started the second half superbly and when Marcos Alonso cushions a header across goal it runs into the path of Eden Hazard - he doesn't know whether to head or volley it, it's an awkward height and he can only push it wide...

  13. CLOSE!published at 47 mins

    Tottenham 1-0 Chelsea

Already a touch more direct from Chelsea as Diego Costa tests Hugo Lloris with a stinging shot from 18 yards and then Marcos Alonso drives the low cross right across the goalmouth.

A reason to be cheerful/fearful depending on who you support: Spurs have won just one of the last eight Premier League games against Chelsea that they have held a lead in (W1 D4 L3).

The man at the centre of most of Tottenham's action in the first half was Jan Vertonghen.

Not only has the Belgian defender had more touches than any other player on the pitch, he has also made more passes in the opposition half, is joint top in his team's stats for regaining possession (five times), clearances (two) and on his own in terms of interceptions (three times).

    He's earned his half-time orange.

Matt Garner: Could be game of the season this! Great first half.

Alex: Alli Alli Alli! Oi Oi Oi!

Jude: Surely Willian is a better fit for this sort of game than Pedro? Spurs defence treating Pedro like a nuisance than an opponent.

Colin Reardon: Please change this ridiculous law about over-celebrating deserving a yellow card! Have the law makers never played the game!?

Diane James was the leader of UKIP last time Chelsea lost a Premier League game. Can Antonio Conte summon a fightback?

Thibaut Courtois, not a man for team talks, is out warming up throughout the half-time interval.
