    Wolves 1-2 QPR

    There's almighty confusion at Molineux.

It appeared the referee had blown for a free-kick to QPR, but the visitors play on and Pawel Wszolek simply picks up the ball, waltzes through and slots home to give QPR the lead with three minutes to go.

Wolves couldn't clear their lines and it's another defensive error which appears to have cost them.

    Barnsley 2-2 Birmingham

Birmingham come close through David Cotterill's free-kick which goes just wide, but keeper Adam Davies looked to have it covered.

The Barnsley fans are then very unhappy with a tackle by David Davis on Marley Watkins which goes unpunished. Unmentionable chants ring around Oakwell.

Matty Taylor has bagged a brace for Bristol Rovers against AFC Wimbledon and he moves onto 18 goals in all competitions this season. He earned the League Two Player of the Year award for 2015-16 and he's certainly making a splash in League One.

Elsewhere, Bolton against Scunthorpe remains 1-0 and Coventry City have just 10 minutes left to hold on to their 1-0 lead against Peterborough United.

A scrappy game may well have been won by the scrappiest of goals.

Callum Robinson's cross deflects off Sheffield Wednesday defender Sam Hutchinson and into the back of the net.

    Barnsley 2-2 Birmingham

A huge ovation for Norman Rimmington on 71 minutes for his 71 years of service to Barnsley, from all sides of Oakwell.

Towards the end of the applause, Josh Scowen crosses into the box and Sam Winnall fires wide at the back post. A great chance. It would have been a fitting tribute to 'Rimmo'.

Plymouth Argyle have finally broken the deadlock against Crawley Town to take them back to the top of League Two.

Oscar Threlkeld with the goal which sees Carlisle fall back into second place, despite their 3-2 lead against Notts County.

And there's now just one goalless game in League Two, the clash between Grimsby Town and Blackpool, the latter are just one point off the play-off places.

  14. Carlisle on top againpublished at 16:28 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2016

It's been back and forth all afternoon, but Carlisle now have their noses in front against Notts County.

Jason Kennedy has given them a 3-2 lead, and they move above Doncaster to the top of the League Two table, but I'd be surprised if that was the final scoreline in this one.

Birmingham are in the ascendancy and Jonathan Spector is played in by Che Adams, but the defender can only fire wide.

Scunthorpe finally have their equaliser in the crucial top-of-the-table clash with Bolton and it's courtesy of Neal Bishop.

Bolton drop back down to third, out of the automatic promotion places.

Coventry City still hold a narrow lead against eighth-placed Peterborough United, which would be a huge result if they can hold on.

And finally, Bristol Rovers have made the breakthrough against AFC Wimbledon through Matty Taylor, and they could be up to ninth in the table.

Wolves are back on level terms at Molineux and it's no more than they deserve.

Prolific midfielder Dave Edwards latches onto Helder Costa's super cross and slots home.

It's the Wales international's fourth goal in six games for Wanderers. Suddenly it's come to life in the Championship!

    Preston 0-0 Sheffield Wednesday

It's a much better game at Deepdale now with chances for both sides.

Alex Baptiste fires wide for Preston before Stephen Fletcher looks certain to head home for the visitors, only for Paul Huntington to make a fantastic interception.

Fletcher then nods another chance wide from Barry Bannan's cross. What was in the tea at half-time?!
