  2. goal

GOAL - Middlesbrough 0-1 Liverpoolpublished at 20:14 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    Adam Lallana (29 mins)

He's really beginning to add goals to his game, and Adam Lallana's latest puts Liverpool ahead at the Riverside. He owes it nearly all to Nathaniel Clyne mind, who put a tracer bullet of a cross from the right on to his head. Lallana just needed to nod it down and in.

    Christian Eriksen (14 mins)

The goal train has finally left the station as Spurs hit the first of the night. Danny Rose lays it on a plate for Christian Eriksen inside the area and the Dane draws back his left foot and batters the ball into the roof of the net.

    Sunderland 0-0 Chelsea

Marcos Alonso and Pedro build it up nicely on the Chelsea left but when the former Barca man gets into space he puts a cross maybe a foot above Diego Costa's head.

    West Brom 0-0 Swansea

Swansea spraying the ball around nicely - and a peach of a crossfield ball from Jordi Amat to Wayne Routledge puts the visitors on the front foot.

Jonas Olsson wrestles Fernando Llorente to the ground, leaving Michael Oliver with little option but to award a free-kick to the right of goal.

Up steps Gylfi Sigurdsson, but he fires straight at Ben Foster.

Palace are really reliant on Wilfried Zaha to give them that width.

Last season they had Bolasie on the other side but now it is just Zaha and everyone else is tucking in.

  8. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 20:12 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    West Ham 0-0 Burnley

West Ham defender Winston Reid wants a penalty after he heads the ball against Michael Keane's arm from a corner, but it was more ball to hand, so he gets nothing.

Seeing as there's no goals, let's get back to discussing how to keep your feet warm at football...

Douglas Fraser: Cold feet at football. Caused by concrete floor. Put newspaper on concrete. Shoes on newspaper. Problem solved

Barnaby Merrill: Long johns and thermal socks tend to keep my feet warm. Only really work during the properly cold nights

Andrew Gallagher: re cold feet at football, invest in some Sealskinz socks, pricey but worth it.

    Other sock manufacturers are available.

  10. CLOSE!published at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    Stoke 0-0 Southampton

A decent opening for Southampton now as Shane Long arrows a shot into the side-netting on the left of the penalty area. It came after some nice build-up play with Sofiane Boufal integral.

  11. Postpublished at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    Crystal Palace 0-0 Man Utd

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly, who hurt himself while jumping for a ball, is back on the pitch after getting some treatment.

    Sunderland 0-0 Chelsea

John O'Shea is relishing this challenge of getting on top of Diego Costa and he beats the striker in the air again. Sunderland switch the ball quickly to the space left on the left by Marcos Alonso and Adnan Januzaj shoots wide from 20 yards.

    West Brom 0-0 Swansea

Nothing has happened to tell you about at The Hawthorns. I fear that I might say that a few times tonight.

  14. Postpublished at 20:09 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    Tottenham 0-0 Hull

Spurs are on top, as you would imagine. Moussa Sissoko has had the best opening but his shot from range deflected wide off the toe of Curtis Davies.

    Man City 0-0 Watford

Chance for Manchester City. Kevin de Bruyne steps over a pass which ends up with Raheem Sterling. He finds the Belgian but his effort is saved by Heurelho Gomes.

Then the Brazilian keeper denies Nolito, who appears to be the main striker today.

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Liverpool

First save for Simon Mignolet to make tonight, and he does. He could have thrown his cap on Ben Gibson's header mind.

  18. Postpublished at 20:07 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2016

    Sunderland 0-0 Chelsea

Diego Costa has been targeted by Sunderland in these early stages, he's been clattered by John O'Shea a few times and now he goes shoulder to shoulder with Fabio Borini. Then Billy Jones pushes him over.

Costa is keeping a lid on it. For now.

A big worry for Manchester United as defender Eric Bailly, recently back from a knee injury, goes down in pain.

That came moments after Wayne Rooney headed over from close range.
