    Leicester City 1-0 West Ham

Havard Nordtveit might have got karate lessons for Christmas.

He flies in with a jumping tackle and plants a foot into the midriff of Ben Chilwell.

It's only a booking for the West Ham man - he's fortunate.

Leicester keeper Kasper Schmeichel is apoplectic and gets a yellow for his protests.

    Jermain Defoe

The scantest of consolations. Jermain Defoe gets one back for Sunderland, getting on the end of Adnan Januzaj's chip, sliding in to steer the ball past Tom Heaton.

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 16:29 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2016

    Manchester United 0-1 Middlesbrough

Manchester United roll the dice. Chris Smalling off, Marcus Rashford on. Since the Boro goal, the home side haven't looked like getting back in it.

    Swansea 0-2 Bournemouth

One-way traffic at the Liberty. Bournemouth could be a dot on the horizon by now.

Junior Stanislas slips in Benik Afobe and Lukasz Fabianski rushes out to close the angles and make the one-on-one save.

No sign of a Swansea resurgence.

Kasper Schmeichel keeps Leicester in front.

Aaron Cresswell hits a West Ham free-kick that deflects wickedly off Ben Chilwell - it looks for all the world it will spin in but Schmeichel sorts ot his wrong feet and stops the ball on the line down to his left.

I sense a late Hammers onslaught here.

Perhaps Leicester do too, as they remove the luxury of Riyad Mahrez for the relative stability of Christian Fuchs.

  6. Championship updatepublished at 16:28 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2016

Ian Holloway has lost all six games he has had as QPR boss so far this season, but could he be about to get his first win? Rangers are 1-0 up at Wolves. Meanwhile, Birmingham have fought back from 2-0 down to 2-2 at Barnsley.

    Ashley Barnes

Burnley rampant, Sunderland just a load of pants.

It is looking bleak for the visitors as Ashley Barnes wallops away the spot-kick. Burnley are nine points clear of the drop as it stands.

  8. Zlatan goal still the talking pointpublished at 16:26 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2016

    Man Utd 0-1 Middlesbrough

    Trevor Sinclair
Ex-Man City & West Ham winger on Final Score

Middlesbrough have had a few chances and they have threatened, especially on the counter-attack.

But for me the big moment is going to be the Zlatan Ibrahimovic disallowed goal still.

I think when Lee Mason sees it again he'll be a little bit gutted.

  9. 'A quality finish from Leadbitter'published at 16:26 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2016

    Man Utd 0-1 Middlesbrough

    Alex Bruce
Hull City defender on Final Score

A great finish from Grant Leadbitter after a lovely knock-down by Alvaro Negredo. But it was a quality finish from Leadbitter, hard and low.

    Grant Leadbitter

    Can you believe this???

Middlesbrough lead at Old Trafford! It's Grant Leadbitter, on his first Premier League start, pouncing on a knock-down and arrowing a right-footed shot low past David de Gea.

    Absolutely incredible.

  12. League One latestpublished at 16:24 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2016

Bradford City are back on level terms with Bury, scoring only their third goal in seven games and it's come from Nicky Law.

They will stay fifth in the League One table if the scoreline stays the same, while Bury sit just one place above the drop zone.

Not much else to tell you about in that division at the moment.

  13. League Two latestpublished at 16:24 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2016

No shortage of goals in League Two. Luton have regained the lead at home to Barnet through Cameron McGeehan and Exeter City have now put three past bottom of the table Newport County.

  14. 'Chelsea encapsulate Conte's spirit'published at 16:23 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2016

    Chelsea 3-2 Stoke

    Trevor Sinclair
Ex-Man City & West Ham winger on Final Score

So disappointing for Stoke after Crouch's goal.

To react like that from Chelsea encapsulates everything that Antonio Conte's management is about. That never-say-die spirit.

What an excellent reaction from Willian, who I think was their best player last season.

    Willian (65 mins)

    Bonkers. Just bonkers.

Cesc Fabregas has wayyyyy too much space on the edge of the Stoke area and strokes a throughball to Willian, who finishes nicely on the angle.

Chelsea fancy being record-breakers - they just want to do it the hard way.

GOAL - Chelsea 2-2 Stokepublished at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 31 December 2016

    Peter Crouch (64 mins)

Concentration? A lack of leadership? Or Peter Crouch's unique brand of football?

Whatever it is Chelsea suddenly look flaky in the middle of defence as Crouch wins a high ball, lays it off to sub Bojan and Mame Biram Diouf returns a low cross into the box for the big man to turn in.

    Stamford Bridge stunned.

    Manchester United 0-0 Middlesbrough

Manchester United keep banging on the door, with Boro doing all they can to keep it on the hinges. Wave after wave of red attack, more and more blue shirts behind the ball. Jose Mourinho is still ticking about the disallowed goal.

    Leicester City 1-0 West Ham

Leicester fans are howling for a free-kick and a red card.

Manuel Lanzini gets a header wrong and has his West Ham team-mates backpedalling.

Islam Slimani goes down on the edge of the area, tussling with Angelo Ogbonna - the Hammers defender is already on a booking but escapes punishment.

His near post header is pushed behind by a full-stretch Fraser Forster.

A goal worthy of delaying heading out for New Year's Eve to watch on Match of the Day. Great touch and finish by Hal Robson-Kanu, this graphic doesn't do it justice so watch MOTD on BBC Two at 22:00 GMT.
