Manchester United defender Timothy Fosu-Mensah has gone down with what looks like cramp, he did land awkwardly after going up for a header.

It's very difficult to make a case for another upset this evening now. Wigan were well in the game in that first half but that second goal looks like ending this one as a contest.

It was another cross into the box and Wigan can't deal with it.

Chance for Wigan! A cross whipped in from the right, Sergio Romero gets in a total muddle and ends up just pushing it out to the edge of the area where David Perkins is arriving. He drills it hard and low and it's saved by the shins of Romero.

It all opens up for Bastian Schweinsteiger, he runs into the area and for some reason goes to shoot with his left foot instead of his right. It's easily blocked, but he ran into traffic.

A round of applause from Jose Mourinho as youngster Timothy Fosu-Mensah powers down the right, he's played in on goal by Wayne Rooney but doesn't look convincing and scuffs a shot wide of the near post.

I've seen some suggestion that Fosu-Mensah - playing full-back today - is being groomed to take Michael Carrick's place in midfield long term.
