    Bayern Munich 5-1 Arsenal

Former England defender Rio Ferdinand on BT Sport: "I didn't see 5-1 at half-time. Bayern went into overdrive. They looked spineless. There was no fight or aggression. You want to see fire in their belly and that's the most disheartening thing for me."

Oliver Middleton: Wengers lowest point was the 8-2 to an average Man United team, and he's still here, so he will probably be here next season

Matt Williams: That I predicted a drubbing before the game says how stagnant Arsenal have become over the years. It's a sad, sad sight to see.

Stavros Makrozachopo: Tonight, the body language of Wenger suggests that it's all over.I think that result tonight signals the end of his reign

Helles Mammut: Wenger should be fired on the flight back, every minute he stays at Arsenal is wasted by the club...

    Bayern Munich 5-1 Arsenal

The vast majority of the Arsenal players quickly disappear down the tunnel, some stay briefly to applaud those hardy travelling fans.

Bayern Munich players are celebrating on the pitch like they are into the quarter-finals.

To be fair, they probably are.

  7. 'Arsenal utterly outplayed'published at 21:43 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2017

    Bayern Munich 5-1 Arsenal

    Pat Nevin
Ex-Chelsea winger on BBC Radio 5 live

In the second half, Bayern decided when it would be played at a high tempo or when they would calm it down. Arsenal came to life in the last 15 minutes of the first half and you thought ‘maybe, just maybe’. But the negativity before the game feels more like a realism. Arsenal were totally outplayed by a team who are good but weren’t utterly brilliant.

Bayern aren’t as vociferous as this usually after the final whistle unless they have won a tie. And they have.

  8. Wenger's lowest point?published at 21:42 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February 2017

    Bayern Munich 5-1 Arsenal

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown is on BT Sport and has just described tonight as the lowest point in Arsene Wenger's managerial career at the Gunners.

    Bayern Munich 5-1 Arsenal

Let's not take anything away from Bayern Munich. That was a stunning second-half performance by Carlo Ancelotti's side that few sides would have been able to cope with.

The manner of Arsenal's collapse, and the lack of fight after they fell behind, was disappointing though.

Mesut Ozil exists! He touches the ball in a rare spell of possession for Arsenal. In truth, Bayern are letting them have the ball at the moment.

    Thomas Muller (88 mins)

    And there's goal number five.

Thomas Muller has struggled for goals this season but scores with almost his first touch. Thiago squares the ball for the forward and Muller touches it once to open up a bit of space in the middle of the area and then picks his spot.

Sutton must be licking their lips with this second half display from Arsenal...
