    Arjen Robben (13 mins)

    What a strike!

You absolutely do not back off Bayern Munich when their flare players attack. That, unfortunately for Arsenal, is what Francis Coquelin does and Arjen Robben is allowed to run along the edge of the area before the Dutch wizard launches a pinpoint striker into the top corner.

This could be a long night for Arsenal.

    Lorenzo Insigne (12 mins)

Is there something in the Spanish water?

After Barcelona capitulated against PSG, Real Madrid are behind at home to Napoli. Marek Hamsik opens the Real defence with a ball for Lorenzo Insigne, who spots Kelyor Navas off his line and bends a shot from distance into the corner.

David Ospina is called into action for the first time as the lively Thiago feeds Arturo Vidal on the edge of the area and the midfielder drives a shot through the Arsenal defence and stings the Arsenal keeper's hands.

If I was an Arsenal fan I'd be having my heart in my mouth - it just needs one of these Bayern through balls to slip through.

    Bayern Munich 0-0 Arsenal

Bayern head down the Arsenal left through Arjen Robben and Philipp Lahm but the latter's cross drifts out of play.

That looks to be where they are focusing their attacks in these early stages. Long night ahead for Kieran Gibbs.

    Real Madrid 0-0 Napoli

Crikey, Real Madrid are in no mood to 'do a Barcelona' and are straight on the attack as Karim Benzema smashes a shot from close range straight at Pepe Reina, who sticks out a hand to bat the ball away. The hosts look on it.

I asked are Arsenal going to try an push up and squeeze Bayern? Well they are. Bayern won't like that, they expect to dominate games in this stadium. But it will create gaps.

Kieran Gibbs is immediately put under pressure as Arjen Robben and Philipp Lahm combine down the left. The Arsenal full-back does well, though, and Bayern are forced to play the ball back to Xabi Alonso in the middle of the pitch.

    Steady start for the visitors.

Cristiano Ronaldo and his Real Madrid team-mates walk out at the Bernabeu, the atmosphere as electric as ever there.

Real are flying high in La Liga while Napoli are unbeaten in 18 games. Should be a cracker.

Wenger looks pretty cool and calm, not like there's the pressure of the need for a positive result tonight on his shoulders.

We've seen Bayern looking stronger and it is a young Arsenal side so they have that in their back pocket.

Bayern have this amazing run in Germany with only one defeat all season so far. Arsenal are the underdogs so they need to just go out and see what they can do.

Is Arsene going to send his players out and say take them on? That would be dangerous, but it might just work.

Ex- Arsenal goalkeeper Jens Lehmann has been speaking to BBC World Service about his former manager Arsene Wenger.

"I cross my fingers that he will win the champions league this year," said Lehmann. "I think that would be a fantastic farewell for him.

"I think a farewell not reaching the top four in the premier league is not appropriate for him."

There needs to be a plan for Arsenal fans to work out and celebrate what will be the final chapter for Arsene Wenger. If they gave him a year and he won the league it could be reassessed. Alex Ferguson did the same thing, but there needs to be a clear message for the fans.

Everyone has to leave Arsenal eventually. He won’t be leaving at the end of this season, I’ll be amazed and staggered. But I feel that there is time for one more season and lets hope that he can go out with a bang and win the Premier League.

I can’t believe he hasn’t won it since 2004. It’s quite remarkable when you think how they went unbeaten that season that they haven’t been able to do it again.

The knives may be sharpening for Arsene Wenger as another season looks set to finish without a Premier League trophy, but the Frenchman has support in the shape of Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti.

"I have a lot of respect for the job he has done at Arsenal," said the Italian.

"He built a strong identity and a good style of football. He has the experience to know that in our job it is normal to be criticised. For this reason he has no problems."
