"We want to play attractive and efficient football and I don't think that's a bad target. We haven't lost a game yet.

"Thank you for reminding me about history but let's focus on the future. Listening to you Bayern are favourites so we have to be very positive and be on the fighting front."

Arsenal won't play their typical style tonight. They will have to be much more defensive.

I watched them away at Stamford Bridge recently and could not believe how high up the pitch Arsenal were trying to close Chelsea down.

I hope Arsene doesn't do that again tonight. If he does that and they push up high, they will get done.

Real Madrid v Napoli (19:45 GMT)

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently in his longest run without a Champions League goal at Real Madrid.

But he's managed 34 goals in 38 knockout games with the Spanish side, so he'll be looking to add to that tonight.

The last and only other time Napoli travelled to Real Madrid was back in 1987 in a fixture that could be credited with bringing about the creation of the Champions League.

An unusual game saw a Napoli side containing the mercurial Diego Maradona play Real in European Champions Cup first round game in front of no fans because of crowd trouble at the Spanish club the previous season.

AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi was watching that game and was so aghast that two big sides could meet so early on in the competition he set in motion, external plans for a European super league, which ultimately led to the creation of the Champions League.

    History lesson over.

Watching Robben lately he’s lost none of his flare and pace and he's scoring a lot of goals. Lewandowski is probably Europe’s finest striker. Lahm is in his last season now he’s announced, so there’s lots of reasons for Bayern to want to win this and do very well.

They couldn’t do it under Guardiola. There’s a lot to prove for this Bayern team but I just hope Arsenal have enough experience in their midfield.

One piece of good news for Arsenal is that Thomas Muller is bang out of form at the moment.

The Germany forward scored an incredible 37 goals for club and country last season but he has got just five in the current campaign. In the Bundesliga he's scored once and he's on the bench tonight.

Apparently Manchester United bid, external £85m for him. Lucky escape?

    Quote Message

Everyone's waiting for this game. It will be a big challenge for us. I hope we can deliver a good performance and play really well here in Munich. Arsenal have very good footballers. They know what it means to play in the Champions League. We need to concentrate on ourselves. If we play our game then Arsenal probably won't get many chances. But we must play well from back to front.

If Arsenal are to win this game or, at the very least, ensure they are still in the tie for the return leg, they are going to have to keep Robert Lewandowski quiet.

The Poland striker is on fire at the moment and has scored 14 goals in his last 12 Champions League appearances on home soil.

Mesut Ozil. Very good at wearing snoods, not so good at performing in the big games.

There's no doubting the Germany midfielder's talent but so often he has gone missing when Arsenal have needed him most.

Without a goal since 10 December, there had been rumours that Arsene Wenger had lost patience with his under-performing star and planned to drop him for tonight's game. He's kept the faith, though...

If Ospina makes a mistake, all necks swivel round and look at Arsene Wenger and people will ask what on earth he was doing.

I'm not in any way dissing Ospina, he's a good goalkeeper. But in a game like this, you want the best team possible and I think that's Petr Cech.
