That Dele Alli doesn't get any better with repeat viewings. It is an absolute shocker. He could easily have broken Dejaegere's leg.

Cheers from the away fans, boos from the Spurs followers.

What do Spurs do now? Down to 10 men, needing two goals to win the tie. If they do manage to turn this around we are in for a belter of a second half.

Lovre Kalinic is shown a yellow card for delaying his goal-kick.

Soon after, Harry Kane goes for glory from near the halfway line but gets his effort all wrong, sending it way over the bar.

    Tottenham 1-1 Gent (agg 1-2)

The Walker-Kane combo almost comes off again. The former's cross is cleared away from the latter by a superb saving tackle at the near post.

Replays of the Alli red card show he was clearly wound up after believing he should have had a foul just before his horror lunge. There is no excuse for what followed, though.

    Bradley Allen
Ex-QPR striker at Wembley for BBC Radio London

Oh dear. He has mistimed that one. He's over the ball, he's missed the ball completely. The referee has no choice. The lead-up to that incident, maybe he felt he was fouled and he's taken his frustration out in the next passage of play.

  11. RED CARDpublished at 41 mins

    Tottenham 1-1 Gent (agg 1-2)

Now Spurs are in big trouble. Dele Alli is off. A straight red. he can have no complaints, either. It is a horrific tackle. A late lunge over the top of the ball halfway up Brecht Dejaegere's leg.

That could be curtains for Tottenham in the Europa League. They are down to 10 and need two goals in 50 minutes.

Walker is proving to be Spurs' most potent attacking weapon. He delivers another good cross to the near post but Harry Kane is beaten to the ball by his marker.

A number of bookmakers have ex-Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini as favourite for the Leicester job. Alan Pardew is second favourite in most places, with the club's former boss Nigel Pearson at 8-1.

    Early days.

Chaos in the Spurs box. Another Gent corner causes problems as the ball is headed on and allowed to drop behind two home defenders. Eventually, Mousa Dembele gets a vital toe to the ball before Eric Dier clears.

Kyle Walker - such a threat down the right - stings the palms of Kalinic with a fierce angled drive from just inside the box. The keeper shows strong hands, though, to push the shot away.

Replays show that the corner that led to Gent's goal should actually have been a goal-kick. It doesn't excuse Tottenham's defending, though.

Tottenham win a corner of their own, which they take short and completely waste as a result of Mousa Dembele's foul.

Oh, how did nobody get a touch on that?! Christian Eriksen's corner is allowed to run by Dele Alli but only Victor Wanyama is anywhere near and even he is too far back to apply what would surely have been a scoring touch.
